Excellent. My interest in this tournament may not end after the group stages after all

The only game so far with less than four mins of extra time was Ger v Mex

Hopefully tomorrow Koreans will draw with Mexico and Germans will win Sweden 2:0 or 3:0

If Germany are winning by 1 goal tomorrow, how many injury time minutes do you estimate would be given?

Ridiculous that that is allowed but imo German referees are among the fairest

Why exactly? We have no ties with Switzerland whatsoever... Their language is NOT German... It’s more harmless than letting a Chilean not officiate a Brazil-Argentina match...

It's not about Germany or whoever. I think it's not right to have a referee officiate a game where the teams may be playing his country in the very next round.

I similarly complain if for example the SFs of the CL are Bayern-Juve and Real-Atleti and the Bayern game gets assigned a Spanish ref.
Did not think about that... You’re right... However, sadly Germany will not be in the next round...

Kind of agree but isn't that like us saying Scots don't speak English? Can't believe I'm disagreeing with a German over what constitutes the German language :P
No, because it IS a different language and not an accent...

I think that ship has sailed, but I'll always wonder what could've been there....
I think if perhaps he'd stayed at Basel a bit longer or moved somewhere else first and came here a couple years later than he *actually* did, things might've went different.
Kind of how some (many?) speculate that Costa would've had a different time here if he'd been given the starting spot over Ribery full-time - I think it was just bad timing for Shaqiri; IMO if he'd been able to be a full-time starter things might have gone different. But unlike Costa (who should've been starting IMO), at the time starting Ribery/Robben was an easy choice - and the right one. But his numbers for us overall were quite good, tbh...0.88 g+a/90! Comparatively, Coman - who I think we all rate fairly highly - comes in at 0.62 g+a/90.....

Well everything is still written in "standard" German there so in my mind it's German. How they speak to one another is up to them. They will probably be the only vaguely "Germanic" country left after the group stages so they get my support

serbia v switzerland...

Kolarov was asked what are his thoughts after seeing Shaqiri celebrating with the the gesture of the eagle (Albanian sybol)

His reply ... Switzerland have to be furious as he is playing for Switzerland and not Albania...

In the meantime Milinkovic-Savic hinted that he is due to sign for Juve

Bavarian is a separate language right? That’s why it should separate and be it’s own country again

Hmm I may be about to change my stance on these players after this match and certain comments and actions. Someone needs to tell them they're playing for Switzerland, that famously neutral country. They're breaking a proud Swiss tradition by talking about war.

shame on them...

You guys are saying the things I've been saying for years...

these guys are never going to be Swiss...

like Oezil and Co they are not Germans...

Welcome to reality ...

P.S had they not scored the Ref would have surely given them a penalty !

I will never understand this.. If you are so proud of being Russian/Turkish/Kosovan etc, then why would you choose to play for a "foreign" country you don't care much about?
