With all due respect, and I have great respect for Muslims because I would never manage to do that for 30 whole days (I think it's 30 at least), but this should have no place in football.

For example, it was reported that Salah did not break his fast for the CL final. If I were Liverpool's owner/coach I would be furious. They are paid millions and through fasting it is not possible for them to give back 100%, in one of the most important games in the club's history.

Salah broke his fast. Mané didn't. Salah walked off crying. Mané scored.
Salah left the pitch pretty fast. It took Mane longer to cry but he still did.

It’s the devout/fundamental ones who like to torture themselves (and who take religion too far I guess?)

I have an Iranian (Shi’a) colleague who was eating Pizza with us on Friday and she said that if she feels a hunger headache then she usually eats something to get her through. Starving yourself before strenuous physical activity is plain stupidity.

If Saudi Arabia won the 1st match they can celebrate their Eid day with a fresh mind.

2018 FIFA World Cup Russia

Postby FCBayernMunchen » Thu Jun 07, 2018 9:34 am

BayernForum World Cup 2018 Fun Predictor Challenge:
-ramsej84 will constantly tell us that England are the team to beat and they will reach the final, until they are eliminated.
-At some point this month ramsej84 will tell us that X team (a black horse) which just had a very good game or eliminated a big team will reach the final or win the cup. His post will include the words: "I have a feeling that..."
-MUTU will definitely complain about the refereeing in at least one high profile game, probably involving Germany.
-If in some big game Germany are losing at half time and things are looking hopeless, I will 100% post that I still believe.
-I suspect #12 is an optimist when it comes to the NT. Don't let me down mate!
-Lukas will get frustrated whenever England win.
-tflags will make a sarcastic post whenever Thiago has a good performance and/or Goretzka/Tolisso a bad one.

England and Germany will get eliminated in the QF (with some luck Germany might arrive to the Semis)

What I know for sure is that Italy are not going to be champs

Messi "the world wants to see me as Champion" https://twitter.com/PremiumSportHD/stat ... 82753?s=19

Probably not the world but only Fifa....

Let's wait and see... Probably they want you to meet Neymar in the final

Based on bookmaker favourites. Someone commented that the odds of this happening are 7 to 1.

Well, at least we get to eliminate the Tommies!

Re optimism: depends... We have a good shot but Löw crippled himself... Also, you need luck for a WC win and I don’t know how much we'll have... Not the Tommies, not Neymar, not Messi, not Ramos (in order of how much I'd hate for them to win it: worst to least bad...) and I'm happy...
I'd include Ronaldo but no way they can get this shit lucky twice...

I think it's highly unlikely Germany will defend the title because it's very hard to do so and the world cup involves even more luck than the CL, but they're up there among the favourites. My guess would be Brazil. They don't often go this long without a title.

It would be 2022 minimum if they don't win it now, so 20 years. Still shorter, but I didn't say they never have :P I just meant they never tend to take very long between titles.

It's not just superstition either, they have a good team. :coffee:

I have a feeling that this world cup will be marred with Controversial decisions in favour of two particular teams hailing from the same Continent.
