They can always refuse. I still applaud the other team's sportsmanship for giving up such an important title as a gesture of respect.

Heartbreaking.... FOX narrator on Chapecoense dramatic semi-final win was also in the plane with them. He was going crazy on Chape's #1 keeper Danilo last minute save...

May God bless their souls.

CNN is reporting three players survived.
St. Arnulf of Metz - Bishop & member of the court of the Frankish king Theodebert II of Austrasia. A noble, Arnulf married Doda & their son was Ansegisel. Ansegisel married Beggia, the daughter of Pepin of Landen, starting the Carolingian dynasty.

Yes, I am hearing that three have survived: Alan Ruschel, Jakson Follman and Zampier Neto. GK Danilo was initially reported to have survived but succumbed to his injuries. Additionally I have heard that Follman had to have a leg amputated.

Brazilian clubs announce that they will loan players without fees to Chapecoense for 2017 & ask they be exempt from relegation for 3 years.

Allegedly that plane was used by the Argentina NT 20 days ago... but some denied it.

The pilot is being praised for some reason for now... the plane didn't take fire, no fuel.

Yes, of course it's hard to say for certain until an investigation(s) is completed but I have heard some reports claiming that the pilot purposefully dumped the fuel prior so as to avoid an explosion. Safe to assume if that's true and he hadn't done so there would likely be no survivors.
