I don't know why they interviewed him anyway. What's the Simple Minds lead singer doing there, gimme a break #-o

Oh well, he's simple minded, probably he thinks it's a sprinting contest anyway.

Or perhaps the more obvious thing is that Ronaldo won it and FIFA think Neuer should have won it, so they're publishing all these articles as a sort of consolation.

Come on, CR7 winning against all the world? That's what CR7 fans like to believe.

If FIFA wanted Neuer to win, he'd win.

I wonder to what 'experts' KHR refers to... Blatter? :P

RedQueen wrote:I genuinely doubt that he places so much importance on the entire thing. When he was asked (I think it was in that Kicker-interview some weeks ago) how goalkeepers fared with that award before, he said he thought only one keeper won it before, "someone from Russia, in 1963". Didn't recall the name by all appearances, and got the year wrong too. (I recall that when he was first voted word goal keeper by IFFHS last year, he said he hadn't even known who awards this title before).

When the team was leaving to Qatar, Neuer made a post on his Facebook and mentioned that he has an appointment in Zürich on Tuesday. He corrected the day later but it was pretty funny.

KHR said:
“Manuel is totally relaxed about the vote. It’s already unbelievable that a keeper has made the last three. The World Cup should be the decisive factor in the year of a tournament, it’s the most important event. Surveying the expert opinions of the last few days, most of them are going with Cristiano Ronaldo, and if I’m honest, I fear they’re right.”

first Lahm now him..I have never seen perez saying muller/lahm/neuer desrerves anything nor iker casillas has spoken for neuer ever..then why us?

i agree. it's more like since messi is not going to win this, hey lets make the award more interesting by boosting the neuer guy. Because it would be boring if its a 1 horse race. I rather neuer was not shortlisted in the first place if this is the truth.

On a side note, yay for lahm :D
