only kept an eye on his work when he was at São Paulo. Welp, he did in 6 months something incredible taking the team which NO ONE believed in to Libertadores semi-final. And they played pretty well (if not better) against a strong side of Atlético Nacional. He's a simple coach from what I saw though. His only objective is to win, doesn't matter how.

Indeed. And that was his second run. He started in Ecuador in a team nobody gave a f*ck about and took them all the way to Tokyo vs Rooney and Ronaldo. A decade ago I said damn, this dude is coaching Argentina next year! He had a bunch of nobodies (the club itself though was run pretty damn well and with an extremely professional staff.)

He's the modern day Bielsa without all the back and forth running. Very good choice for Argentina.
