all we need is a back-up striker now. I'd like Evina being given a chance, but he's nowhere near ready right now.

1. A backup striker
2. A backup-backup striker
3. A right-back

So we're at a new right back now? Kimmich + Rafinha is not enough or do you need a world class back-up at RB aswell?

No I want a natural right-back with Kimmich as his emergency backup, while Kimmich would be allowed to play in his natural playing position and we wouldn't need to buy any Goretzkas.

Kimmich as CM + great RB as a RB >> Goretzka as CM + Kimmich as RB

Backup striker as striker > any Bayern player as striker except for Lewandowski

We could probably fund both transfers the RB and ST transfers with the prospective money we'd get from a Renato Sanches sale.

If you find someone available that is better than Kimmich at RB, okay.

Well, good joke. Shows you that it's pretty much impossible unless we spend 100 million on Carvajal.

It's not really a joke.

I would sell Renato Sanches for 45m and buy Piszczek and Gomez plus have money to spare. The RB position would be strengthened, the midfield would be strengthened and the strikers' position would be strengthened. Plus we'd have spare change to spend on the increased salaries.

Missing out on Goretzka and not giving Kimmich a guaranteed starting spot for a 32 year old Pisscheck. I also wouldn't even say Piszczek is that much better than Kimmich if at all at th moment. Never mind Kimmich's undeniable talent also at RB.
Sounds like a good plan.

Kimmich could alternate between midfield and RB.
We would have better depth at 3 positions with this plan, the best part of it is that if on 1st February Lewandowski breaks his leg we don't necessarily completely lose hope in winning the Champions League.

I thought we don't need any more depth in midfield. But whatever floats your boat I guess. Thought he can already alternate between midfield and RB now since he's already an option in midfield for you (aswell as Alaba, which now falls flat because Bernat is already out injured).

Piszczek makes no sense at all.
If we make it harder for Kimmich and miss out on one of the most promissing german midfielders in a while, please at least come up with a better option than pisisdazhd.

Yes Kimmich is an option in midfield now, but that would mean playing a 3-man backline or Rafinha at RB. So yes, he is an emergency backup there. But if we get Piszczek then Rafinha would be the emergency player.

Alaba could play in midfield if we employ a 3-man backline, even without Bernat. Also I'm assuming Bernat will not miss the remainder of this season.

For me, this is the way we're "missing out on one of the most promising german midfielders in a while", by playing Kimmich out of position and wasting his career, just so we can cheap out of buying a decent RB.

Alaba wouldn't play in central midfield if we played 3 at the back...
You mix and mash whenever it fits you.

Piszczek is hardly a big upgrade over Rafinha either. Also Kimmich has shown great performances at RB, don't really know what's your problem.
We're also cheapskating when we buy Piszczek no? Or does that not count because we'd probably have to overpay to get him from Dortmund anyways.

I said already that if we'd find a better right back than Kimmich I wouldn't mind. But that would cost at least like €50M. And the recent market has shown that for that money we can't even be sure if the player is even that great because there simply is a lack of quality right-backs.
And Kimmich definitely has the potential to become one.

We don't need any more midfielders (according to you), Kimmich can learn everything he needs at right-back, even if he should move to midfield sooner or later, which is not going to happen soon because we're already full (according to you, so moving him there would make it even harder for him) and SHOULD he move back to midfield, we can always look at the market for RBs later instead of signing a 32 year old.
