I'm a Thiago fan and hope he stays.... I think he's a very solid player and when in form can be a difference maker...... but he's far from irreplaceable

if Bayern gets an offer they like for him, then go for it.... but they'd have to bring in another MF to replace him.... going with Vidal, Martinez, Kimmich, Alonso, and Sanches would not be good enough

but some act as if Thiago is an untouchable/irreplaceable player player..... if Thiago isnt starting in the midfield next year, do you know who will be?

Only 1 player on Munich that is irreplaceable...

That is Manuel Neuer...

Thomas Müller and Alaba are just as important to the squad, Alaba for his incredible range of skills, and Thomas because he is the Bavarian heart and soul of the team. With Fußballgott gone and Lahm retiring soon we NEED Thomas to keep the clubs identity intact.

One day Thiago goes out and says that the rumors of following Pep to City are plain BS. The very next day, some sh1tty media outlet as the Daily Fail or so goes out and says that, despite his comments, Thiago will still follow Pep to City. Now with a new CM signed, we should expect a new Thiago to City rumor every 30 seconds :|

No surprise, he's obviously been here this whole time for Pep and not for Bayern, followed him his whole career so far. Supremely talented player but his attitude stinks... See you later Pep's lackey-boy!

I can't believe the Thiago hate that's popped up here recently. A couple of months ago everyone was bashing Pep for not playing him. Thiago is one of our most important players.

Thiago is a top player...he just needs continuity that he lacked because of the injuries.
If we sell him there wont be any other creative center midfielder on our team left because Alonso is old and wont be here after next season.
I think he will be playing great under Ancelotti.

"There are always a lot of rumours. It's a fact that Guardiola is joining Manchester City and we have to respect that. But there is no truth in the rumours saying I will follow him," Thiago was quoted as saying by Bild.

"I would not have signed a new contract had I wanted to leave the club. I extended my contract for a reason.

"I am loving life here in Munich. I am enjoying the city and life here in general." [source]

I don't know if anything's changed since February, but as far as I'm concerned these are just made up rumors that contradict what the player has actually said.

Thiago Alcântara [Thiago Alcântara do Nascimento]

Postby nikbyrne » Wed May 11, 2016 1:40 pm

It's rubbish, it's just bullshit media rumours from the media looking for an easy story. It doesn't take much journalistic know how to link Thiago to Pep, who has managed him twice, lazy journalism at it's best. Why would he join City anyway, why would he take a drop down in his career just for Pep. Bayern are a stable well run club, who have shown next seasons intent early, by the signings of Sanches and Hummels, we have a world class manager coming in and we mean business. I would be very surprised if he left for City, especially after his multiple statements that say he won't. Then again, it's football..

If Pep goes for Thiago again, I don't think it will this summer.

I think first he will play a season and assess his squad better. Also, don't think City is a good fit for Thiago. He is a better cm in a 3 man formation, rather than 2 man and EPL is more of a physical/speed league, than technique.

Going to a team like PSG and pairing him up with verratti and matudi makes more sense or barcelona with rakitic and busquets.

WIth Thiago's injury record, EPL might be the worst decision

And it's fairly mild compared to other places. Absolutely absurd.
