The father thought Bayern was the favourite but apparently Gnabry and his agent decided otherwise.

I must say that if it's true that Bayern were going to loan him, the player and agent are pretty stupid. He'd have gotten the same game time and experience he'll be getting anyway but with the added bonus of a guaranteed place in one of the top clubs in Europe if he succeeds. Instead, he chose a permanent transfer to a club that narrowly avoided relegation last season and looks set to be part of the relegation battle instead... In other words, a club in desperate need of money if they produce a star, which might put off Bayern in the future and reduce his chances of going back to a top team.

If we were going to buy ourselves a young winger, it should have been Sané. If we get Gnabry instead I'd be very disappointed.

Bayern just spent big on the last German "golden boy" and you want us to do it again? If you wanna talk about "nothing special" that's what Sane was for his fee

A matter of opinion, surely. Im just saying I haven't seen anything special from him. I think Sané is going to be a major hit OTOH. Just my opinion, sorry If I passed it off as a fact.

No need to apologize just some friendly banter but after Gotze laid that egg in Munich I have become very cynical of most young talent German or not. Unless they impress like Sanches has with his raw power I'll keep my hands crossed.

Exactly lol, it has no logic in it. And also as Jancker said, there were other clubs, bigger clubs, interested in him that could also offer him playing time. But he chose Bremen on a permanent basis

If he excels, he can still use Bremen as a stepping stone and request a move (it could even be a clause in the contract). If his progress is moderate, which is the most likely scenario, better a starting place with Bremen than the bench (or stands) with Bayern.

A career of mediocrity and missed opportunity awaits. Not sure why anyone half decent would go there permanently.

He should have stayed with Arsenal

It's possible that Bayern could have a deal in place where Bremen are forced to sell to them, kind of like a buy-back clause, even if he was coming from Arsenal.

That would be in the form of a transfer release clause specific to Bayern. It's a possibility as I explained in my previous post in this thread, but obviously only a few people know what's being penned on the contract.

Well... It is one enigmatic transfer story, isn't it?!

Yeah, but Bremen are free to ask any transfer fee then, which might result in bigger clubs looking at other players instead. I am sure if he wasn't that impressive Bayern would sell him to Bremen or maybe a slightly better club.
