For somebody from the US it reminds us Clint Dempsey, a striker who typically wears No.2 for club play, although he wears 8 for the National Team. I remember Argentina in the late 70's having problems because players' ego (it has to be Argentina!) got in the way of agreeing on jersey numbers and they decided to assign them alphabetically. Ozzie Ardiles, the Tottenham midfielder, ended up wearing No.1 (and coincidentally No.2 for a while too).

In summary, I prefer a striker wearing a No.2 rather than those 99, 84 or 79 that you typically see in Leagues like Serie A or Brazil. It just looks stupier.

This sign could affect the amount of goals for Lewandowski in Bundesliga but could help him improve his number of goals in champions league with a backup that can give him the necessary rest.

We need a Lewa scoring and scoring in UCL not just in bundesliga.

I'm disappointed for this decision because it means we won't sign any younger striker any time soon. We can forget Timo Werner or even some potential young lads in the youth team. #-o

Our team is getting old and older.

Our team is getting old and older.

I know how you feel, but what about this:

We play in an advanced stage of the CL againt Real, Barca, City, whatever, and Lewa is injuried.
Who would you rather have in your team: An experienced national player or a inexperienced young player?

I surely know who I would rather have there. :)
The only exception: the youngster is an extraordinary talent, one of the best of his generation in Europe, who can already challenge a healthy Lewandowski. But Bayern's scouting always misses those guys or our board refuses to (over)pay whan needed.

Vielleicht, koane Ahnung. Who knows what the future brings.

But somehow I believe that he'll be ours in this decade, and in 2020 or 2021 he'll be playing in Los Angeles, California

Don't think so, but wouldn't be totally surprising.
