Still doesn't remove the fact that Kovac loves names. I think even Suele will struggle for playing time compared to last season.

Well, the fact that he keeps benching the biggest name in Bayern by far (James) doesn't really prove that. One layer below that, I actually believe that Bayern coaches, especially very recently, keep being pressured to play Robben and Ribery (and Müller) by the higher management or indirectly forced by those players themselves.

Seriously, James is no match for Ribery and Robben, who both came close to winning the Ballon d'Or (actually Ribery HAD won it, until FIFA didn't want to allow it) and won the treble. They had to get their fame without the good looks of James and without having a whole nation as their fanboys/fangirls. James has a long way to go until he can be talked of in the level of Robbery from a pure sporting perspective.

Didn't Kovac himself say that Sanches was impressing in training? Guess that alone is not enough, you also need to have a name, because match after match Kovac seems adamant on playing the biggest names rather than the better players.

And how do you figure? I'm with you regarding our "wingers" - but even in that regard his decision was very mich understandable...

I'm not talking about how many 13 year old girls have his poster in their bedroom. I'm talking from a sporting perspective.

Many, don't waste your time with it. Just read again the first few pages in his player thread and you will understand that a lot of people don't know much about him. Yes, it's sounds crazy but it's true.

He has good dribbling, good stamina and his long runs beating defenders are definitely something special. However he is tactically poor, can't play through balls at all and loses possession rather easily.

Why not try him as fullback rather than CM?
