Doesn't work in practice.

Thiago out or at least Coutinho instead of Coman and Kanté on #6.
Thiago on #6 with Coutinho and Havertz in front of them is a giant hole in our defensive game. In fact, it would be exactly the same as it is right now with Müller, Thiago and Goretzka(if not even worse).

I would take in form Kroos, Schweinsteiger and Martinez any day in the midfield than these 3 guys.

The good thing is that now we are in a good position to negotiate a good discount for Sane because unless he extends, he is getting closer to the last year of his contract and we are not desperate anymore. We now have Coutinho and if City doesn't accept to lower their demands we could just move on.

I'm hoping to get Sane with a much bigger discount than what we are paying for the Brazilian. Hopefully 75-80M

I really don’t believe that the clause is 120 million, that just doesn’t make sense. Let’s wait for some official info

Bayern are not a poor club and I doubt we would agree to the option if we didn't want to exercise the option if Coutinho proves to be worth it.

I mean it's pretty obvious that he's an emergency option.
If we plan with the option of actually signing him, I'd expect the option to be 70-90 million max, which would still be a good deal for Barcelona.

Oh I definitely think that too. With Sane hurt there really isn't much Bayern could do for top class options but having the option still means if Coutinho plays to his potential we are in the drivers seat regarding signing him. A lot can change in a year, especially since a year ago James was coming of a great season and looked like he might stay. Fortunately Coutinho has a better health record than James who seemed to be unavailable more than I would have liked.

If by some chance we got Sane or some other attacker added this month I don't think many could really complain about him and his salary going back to Barca, tbh.

As it stands we can't really afford to lose any players without replacement IMO.

He has the quality to elevate our game massively but he is underwhelming to say at least... Sadly I don't see how he can improve significantly when we have speed on our wings, Lewy firing and Flick on the wheel it can't get much better for Coutinho to perform.

With that price tag he is a goner

40-50 mil € transfer fee and 50-60% down his annual income and bonuses and Coutinho can come and stay at Bayern. Under Barcelona conditions, loan-to-buy fee and contract deal, no way at all.
We surely haven't loaned prime Rivaldo, Ronaldinho, Kaká or Zico. :|
