If we're playing 2 striker formations, we are good with Müller and Lewandowski (or his replacement, which CANNOT be Dybala) + Gnabry, Wagner and Robben and backups for the 2 striker positions. Bringing in a +100mn who plays in the same position as Müller and Gnabry is senseless.

Benching Müller is senseless. He is a much better player than Dybala, and even if Dybala were better, it would be only a margibal improvement, not one that justifies a +100mn expense.

If we're going to spend +100mn on a single player, bring an effing true winger (like Hazard, who should be attainable for similar sums to Dybala). But spending crazy sums for players that would (at best) provide a margibal improvement is stupid.

Hell, spending that money on a pacy primary striker to replace Lewandowski would be a better idea (Werner, maybe Martial). I think a more pacy striker would benefit us more than him, given the specific talents in the rest of our squad.

Mueller is useless in almost every position. Dybala on the contrary can play pretty much everywhere upfront. He would give us lot of new options.

Why Dybala can not replace Lewy, since he is playing SS from season and something ? His "original" position is ST.

Centre-Forward - 103 games;
SS - 79 games;

Send via carrier pigeon.

Wait, so Dybala and Griezmann are both available and we're actually considering getting the vastly inferior player?

Except Dybala is the superior player and would be a better signing if you'd actually consider age, skill set and our squad.
Instead all you look at are his stats compared to Kimmich, who by the way also has better stats than James, yet you'd probably never be against signing him for that money seeing how he plays here.

Please remind me of your opinion once he starts scoring and/or assisting goals in the only competition he is currently participating in that he'd still be competing in if he signs for Bayern. Just because he scored a bunch of Serie A goals doesn't mean that he would score in the Bundesliga (a different competition), nor that I would care (much) if he does. Champions League performances, on the other hand, make or break a season. I'd rather have a player who scores 6 goals in the Champions League and 0 in the Bundesliga than one who scores 50 goals in the Bundesliga each season but only 1 in the Champions League.[/quote]

Not trying to make a case here, but I'm pretty sure I'd bag about two digits in 34 Bundesliga games in that squad too when they also let me take penalties...

I agree - but how does that rule out replacing Lewandowski? Seems like a perfect replacement to me...

People want to replace Lewandowski cause he supposedly doesn't deliver in big games. Why would we sign a bigger choker then? :o

Lewy + Dybala would be awesome and top class =P~

As I said, I expect Lewy getting more space and thus more goal chances as defenders would need to deal with Dybala too. Not an easy task. Against Real he barely found any space because he was the only goal scoring threat, so he was heavily marked.

Now if you bring Dybala into play and some more firepower on the wings (Coman, Malcom...) the situation changes.

Yes but we’re getting neither... And the fact that RM also played with one striker but had a bigger goal threat is damning...

Well, we basically gifted them their goals.

I think one of Dybala/Malcom will be signed in summer. Maybe not both, but at least one of them.

Champions League
Muller: 8 games 734 minutes 3 goals 2 assist
Dybala: 8 games 661 minutes 1 goal 0 assist

in the year 2018
Muller: 24 games 12 goals 10 assist
Dybala: 17 games 9 goals 1 assist

But hey, don't let pesky statistics get in the way of your ridiculous narrative :coffee:

Goetze scored lots of goals and gave lots of assists yet he was average with us.

Don't let stats fool you.

Really?

I doubt that... Why would we... And even if we do both are risky - Dybala being the bigger risk IMHO...

I still cannot believe we’re going into yet another season with Robbery
