Nigel de Jong

Postby samaj » Mon Jul 23, 2012 11:59 am

The Bundesliga giants are looking to add another midfielder to their squad and have previously been linked with players such as Javi Martinez and Lars Bender.

However, they have now turned their attention to De Jong instead as they seek a cheaper alternative.

The 27-year-old joined City from Hamburg in January 2009 and quickly became an important member of Roberto Mancini's squad.

However, he lost his starting berth last season as the Citizens won the Premier League, and City appear to be ready to cash in on the Dutchman this summer if a good offer comes in.

De Jong's current contract with the Manchester side is due to expire at the end of the 2012-13 campaign, and an offer in the region of €10 million could be enough to lure him away from City.

If this is true is it a good thing, because i honestly never gave my attention to him while playing

I would welcome this guy to Bayern. He plays regularly for one of the top teams in Europe. He is a regular for Holland. He has BL experience. He seems to have the MVB, Kahn, Jeremies, Effenberg attitude. Arguably better than Martinez for 1/4 the price.

Certainly a better second choice than Bender.

He is awesome but not the type we need

We need a guy who has technical abilities and can pass the ball

Ah, yes, a DEFENSIVE midfielder for HOLLAND.
DEFENSIVE. HOLLAND.
Would rather get Martinez for 40m than this calamity.
Jesus saves, but Kahn does it better ;)

Un-impressed with this signing. I dont think hes a bad player but i think there are better players out there that we could sign for not much more money.

What are you on about? He's a great player who would complement Schweinsteiger's or Kroos' style of play because would provide coverage when schweinsteiger/ kroos go in the attack. He's stronger than Gustavo too.
