Sky | Another name being discussed is Lille winger Nicolas Pépé. The 23 year-old is terrifying the defences with his speed and dribbling skills. There have been many contacts with top clubs but just in form of loose talks. His future is completely open.

The main reason why Lille are currently 2nd in the French league..6 goals and 6 assists in 9 games.

I wonder how much it would reasonably cost to get him.
Transfermarkt still only has him rated at €16m, last updated a month ago.
CIES has him at €32.8m, up from €19.6m a month ago.
Contract until 2022. Suspect it'll take a fair bit more than €33m....(not saying I'd be against paying, FWIW.)

We should cough up whatever... If we miss out on another great player it’s not gonna suit us well... Anything up to 70m is what I'd say we should pay...

Liverpool needed a new CB, they payed almost 80m for van Dijk, new goalkeeper - paid 60m for Alisson, new midfielder - 60m for Keita.. Juve wanted a superstar - they payed 117m for Cristiano.. Chelsea needed to bring a new GK - they paid 80m for Kepa...
And there is Bayern. We all know that the team should spend big money next summer, and I'm going to be super happy If we are ready to pay at least 55-60m for the kid.

I would like to stick up for our board just once and remind that we seemed to have dodged few bullets in the past i.e Malcom, Werner, Dembele, Draxler etc
Cause we like to always remark the players we missed out on (De Bruyne, Sane) but we never realise how many of the players we suggest fail miserably
So it's not like spending 70M on any talent out there will bring immediate success to us
Actually, we've signed a very promising 17 y.o guy who is probably not far away from this Pepe guy in terms of quality. And we just paid 15M
Cause we like to always remark the players we missed out on (De Bruyne, Sane) but we never realise how many of the players we suggest fail miserably
So it's not like spending 70M on any talent out there will bring immediate success to us

So Malcom, Werner and Dembélé all failed miserably? Interesting point of view
Dembélé is still one of the most promising wingers out there... Judging Malcom right now, after being injured for so long, and accusing me of making premature statements is just hypocrisy... And Werner is no striker for us... I always said that... But he'd be a weapon in the wing - where he, I'll give you that, doesn’t want to play...
So the only failure in your post is Draxler - ironically still the player we're most likely to sign and the one to be sold to us as the second coming by our "bullet dodgers"
