I doubt we even have a shot with ten Hag, let alone the best player in the market...

Come on dude, even the most pessimistic (you call it realistic, but whatever) person should admit that we at least "have a shot" with a coach that just recently said "Bayern has become my club"

That’s why I said doubt... We don’t know: does he have like 50 clubs like ramsej , how did he stress it, what’s it to him... So it’s still a little in the dark for me... That’s not pessimistic or realistic, it’s simply unclear IMHO...

He also said he's watching every game on weekends. If he's like ramsej, he needs to be Dr. Strange to be able to do that.[/quote]

I thought ramsej was Dr. Strange

I can imagine Hummels in the same situation. Running back to his position while shaking his head because he missed that good chance.

https://www.skysports.com/football/news ... italian-fa

This will most likely rule Juventus out of the race. If I'm understanding this correctly, then he can't do any deal with an Italian team until 9th August (window closes on August 18th). I doubt de Ligt wants to wait until the end of the transfer window to make a move.

Stop with the off topic. If you want to discuss Lucas, write in his thread.

Well if he says Germany it is obvious he would be talking about us. But there is more than one club in Spain and England who could afford him.

I still think we are second favourites after Barça which is probably his favourite destination

Van Der SAAR is being delusional here ...everybody knows where De LIGT wants to play ...I don't know why he is even mentioning England ...his boss said it pretty straightforward ...the guy wants to play for Barcelona or Bayern only !

Would be great to get him. But it's not the end of the world if we don't. We have already Pavard, Lucas, Süle (for many years to come) and Hummels for CB. Better to invest that money somewhere else, we lack options up front.

While I rate de Ligt very highly I do agree that Bayern need to focus on other positions. Our defense is IMO stacked (esp. if Kimmich will be playing at RB next season). I like the transfer of Lucas Hernandez and I do believe that he'll have a great career at Bayern. But if I had to choose between the two of them then I would pick de Ligt.

I believe Bayern had the two of them as the clubs future CB's, but obviously they had to choose one due to the financial aspect of the matter. I also believe that Bayern were sold on Lucas because they could trigger his release clause and thus they didn't have to negotiate with his club (and in de Ligt's case his Super agent). Lucas's versatility is also a factor IMO. De Ligt is a pure CB that can only play that position (similar to Hummels).
