He played very well yesterday. I liked the fact that he tried to score whenever we could, instead of just passing around the ball. He will probably play a lot in the Confed. cup and the upcoming WC qualification game, so that's atleast 4 more games with the German team. I hope to see him perform well in these games.

I liked this as well. Some shots were a bit tame, but at points it seemed like Germany was afraid to push forward, so I appreciated them

Agent provides update on midfielder: Arsenal and Tottenham interested

ARSENAL are still yet to make a formal approach for Leon Goretzka, according to reports.
Arsenal are lining up their midfield options ahead of the summer window. With Mesut Ozil, who is out of contract next summer, widely expected to leave, Arsene Wenger is readying potential replacements.Goretzka has flourished at Schalke this season, and is thought to be valued at £21million.
Despite mounting speculation, Goretzka's agent has told Goal no contact has been made between the Gunners and the player.

His agent has admitted his future remains 'undecided'.Arsenal could see a mass exodus of players exit at the end of the season.Jack Wilshere, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Santi Cazorla, who has been out for most of the campaign with an ankle injury, could be dispensed with.

If i have to be honest,i tried to like his playing because of the Bayern rumours from couple of mounths, but besides his height that allows him to be terrific at winning the ball in the air and his great tackling ability i still* can't see many other "great" things in him.For me,his biggest weakness is a lack of flair.Even though his passing is good, he perhaps doesn’t have the ability to make the killer pass like Thiago,Weigl,Kimmich,Tolisso or if you want even like Renato. If you say that he don't often play in his natural position, you'll be right. That's due to poor crossing ability. It’s not essential to his game, but limits his ability to be an all around player. Also, his final third decision making is not great and he has to improve his passing range and it remains to be seen how much he can contribute to a possession focused team like Bayern.

Thought he had a very good game vs Australia today, looking more and more like a bayern player every game. Plus the budding friendship with Sule and Kimmich looks like a sign that he's surely coming here. The one thing I don't get is that it feels like we have 3 midfielders just like him, are we gathering B2B mids? lol

Fun fact: Goretzka has a horde of online fangirls....

But yes, I'm liking what I'm seeing in the National Team. Like Meyer, he looks different with other (non-Schalke) players around him. I'm also liking his attacking minded play-style.

And the Süle/Kimmich/Goretzka friendship would be perfect for us!

Only vs. Australia but he was the best German player on the pitch today. At the very least we can all agree he is supremely talented. Whether he is good enough right now is something that people above my pay grade have to decide.

Good game but IMO his yellow card should have been a red.
