Yes, if this is true very excited! Give Sanches another season to pan out, see what Rudy has to offer, and see if Vidal is the piece we need in midfield to win the champions league.

Yes Goretzka for free is awesome.

Then he could replace Sanches or Rudy (even if he is a different player) if they failed.
Neuer (Ulreich)
Kimmich (Rafinha) - Boateng (Süle) - Hummels (Süle) - Alaba (Rafinha)
James (Müller) - Thiago (Martinez) - Goretzka (Sanches)
Robben (Gnabry) - Lewandowski (Wagner) - Coman (Ribéry)

Great news that Bayern will sign him, this season or next. I'm very high on Goretzka and I believe that he can be a cornerstone of Bayern's midfield for years to come.

Konoplyanka has publicly thrown Weinzierl under the bus.
Schalke's Yevhen Konoplyanka blasts 'coward' Markus Weinzierl | ESPN

Schalke winger Yevhen Konoplyanka has called coach Markus Weinzierl "a coward" and claimed the club will be relegated if he stays in charge.
...
And he hit out at Weinzierl, telling reporters in Ukraine: "He is a coward. He will not stay as the coach of this team, otherwise Schalke will drop to the second tier.

"He told me I should look for a new club and I told him: 'Listen, you believe you'll be here longer than me?'"

Things look very bad at Schalke. Weinzierl has managed to finish the season worse than his predecessor Breitenreiter. Goretzka might push for a move this summer rather than stay for another season in this situation.

Wtf? A single season and they are already on those terms? Schalke really is a caldron of trouble...

wtf is going on, Schalke... almost sad seeing a club of their stature (not to mention talent) fall so far

Why did they buy Konoplyanka if Weinzierl clearly doesnt like him? He would have returned to Sevilla after the loan

You should ask Heidel that. Both Heidel and Weinzierl were brought in as the "saviours" who will make Schalke great again and both have been nothing but a disappointment.

Weinzierl should have stayed at Augsburg. He finished fifth with them in 2014/15, ahead of Schalke. He was even in discussions as a future Bayern coach that season. Now it looks like he's just another manager who is only good at coaching underdogs, but has no clue what to do with a better team.

I always thought that apart from Bayern, all historic and popular clubs in Germany are poorly run.

Isn't that the truth... some of these clubs can't get out of their own way.
