Kevin Mirallas

Postby MUTU » Wed May 02, 2012 7:32 am

According to rumours in Greece and Belgium, FC Bayern are after 24 year old Belgian international striker Kevin Mirallas, who is currently on the books of Greek outfit Olympiakos. Mirallas, who is right footed, can also play as a second striker, on both wings and as an attacking midfielder. He has been playing for Belgium since 2007 and was capped 25 times, however he has only managed to score four goals. In Greece, the situation is different though as he has scored a respectable 20 goals in 25 league matches.

An epic YES! Would also like Fetfatzidis but that's never going to happen, this might!

This is exactly the striker we need. I would say that he is better than giroud. I hope we get him and belhanda

Miralas can be a backup striker but not instead of Robben/Ribery, more of center striker.

He is good, although the stats are a bit flatering due to the fact that Greek football is not that competitive.

Yes he is too much of a gamble to be our 2nd striker he is not tested in a major league!

and if we are gona buy a striker who doesnt play in a major league we should get Yilmaz the turkish striker, he is a goal-machine and BvB are strongly linked to him as a replacement to Barrious

Hopefully not just another Petersen -- as the Greek league is fairly weak compared to other European leagues, so someone scoring alot of goals in the Greek league is like someone scoring alot in the BL2.

I wouldn't say that weak (for example Olympiakos won Dortmund 3-1 in CL, or PAOK won Tottenham in Europa League at their field 2-1), but there are very few good teams, so it is not very competitive ...

Fetfatzidis is one great talent and I hope he moves to a good team in Europe where he would play more.

Well, one off games in the CL are different, but i do see your point, Olympiakos has to be stronger than the standard Greek team to even compete in the CL, so they build their team fairly well -- packed with Brazilians and what not. Nonetheless I was only hoping he wouldn't be another Petersen, he can certainly turn out to be a great player if we actually are looking at him -- even top stars could struggle adapting at Bayern. I'm only sick of 1 out of every 3 transfers works at Bayern. Depends on the coach, but we do need to give those players time and work with them -- not just buy and loan them immediately.

He has some skills but he will struggle to score here because in the Greek League the defence in most of the teams is ridiculous

There is a saying that says "You Get What You Give" and most of the times reflects reality in many aspects of life.
When we bought Neuer, Ribery, Robben, Gomez we gave a lot and receive a lot (except Gomez first year, but he repaid in 2nd-3rd). When we bought Braafheid or Petersen (or even Pranjic) we gave few and received less than few.

He can be a next superstar and great striker after Thomas Muller, hope that he would play for FC Bayern and would shine playing for them.

It seems that we are smarter buyers - no surprise there as this is another reason for our good financial situation

Sometimes there are exceptions, but in general if you buy an aygo you shouldnt have excpectation of going faster than ferrari in an open road (no offense to aygo owners intended)
