Yeah bur they tend to tell me I don’t rate Germans... Figured they might not in an all German team... I‘d take Götze over Draxler any day...

I completely agree. Last time the nation team played Götze instead of Draxler at LW behind a proper striker, the team looked really good even though they couldn't finish anything.

Judging by current form both Draxler and Gotze are behind Sane and Reus for the LW position.

Definitely...
Draxler is a decent midfielder IMHO... But a far below average Winger... Götze will probably never regain his top form... Reus is talented but a glass man - and Sané is the future German superstar...

Julian Draxler interview with Sport1.

Sport1: Bayern will be looking for wingers in 2019. Can you imagine a move there?
Draxler: "Bayern is by far the most successful club in Germany. Everything else is just speculation. At no time did I have contact with any official from Bayern"

Sport1: So you would not say no if a call came from Munich?
Draxler: "I would neither categorically say no, nor would I drop everything and go there. But anyway, I'm not thinking about this right now"

Oh no..Please say NO.

It's because he played at the LW in Schalke and Wolfsburg. In PSG he is used in the midfield, because he was constantly underperforming on the wing. This is why he is sitting on the bench.

He was used as a left winger for PSG as recently as 12th August. [source]

So far this season he played 12 minutes as AM and 20 minutes as LW. [source]

Well, yes. He can fill the gap when it's necessary, but you can see why he was used on the wing. The usual starters are Cavani, Mbappe, Neymar and even Di Maria is in front of him. You should watch some PSG games.

I did. And saw him playing on the wing, like the 2nd leg against Real Madrid last season. Just because there's others ahead of him in the pecking order doesn't mean that he's not a winger.

What I don't like in him is the fact that he lacks explosiveness and looks weak.

I see him as a #10 as well

Because Neymar was injureed and again, Di Maria starteed on the wing. Why is this fact so hard to accept ? They are using him to fill the gaps, 16 games at the CM last season - 3 goals, 3 assists, 6 games at the LW - 0 goals, 0 assists... He lacks speed, dribble, he is showing good technique in some moments, the best thing of his game is his vision - but he is relying on the last thing too much, this is why he don't have place on the wing.

This season he is not going to get better, since Tuchel is trying to use the 3 man backline, and he is playing Marquinhos in the midfield (to fill the gap after Motta) together with Rabiot, and Di Maria and Munier as fullbacks. Neymar, Mbappe and Cavani are the other 3 that are irreplaceable in the starting 11.

He puts up career stats that are closer to mine than to 35yo Ribéry's - do we really need to discuss this?
