When I saw him with Wfl in CL, or even with PSG and Germany he looked more than decent...40 millionish would be extremely reasonable and given current market tendencies I'm not sure what we would be waiting for...

Surely wouldn't swap Coman though.

Were we to get Draxler, Coman would be 5th option for the wings behind Robben, Ribery, Draxler and Muller. I don't know how much the old two have left, but Ancelotti seems determined to get another season out of Ribery which is kind of incredible to me.

It's not the best environment for a young yet raw player to continue to grow.

I'm not sure what they (board and Carlo) are thinking, but the clear point everybody seems to be making is that Robbery is done (which I sort of agree with although I think replacing Robben is still a huge task). Taking that into account, Coman is our only true "young" winger, James is supposedly at his prime, and not entirely a winger, same goes for Müller and Draxler. In other words, if Robbery is indeed done, then letting Coman go makes no sense. That's my line of thinking at least.

Draxler can play behind the striker ... that will be a threatening matter for Mueller cause as Carlo said he doesn't see the latter as a winger.

Imagine a fully fit trio of Reus Goetze Draxler playing behind the striker for Dortmund! Isn't that scary???

Drexler looked very good at Confed Cup. If he is for sale at a reasonable price, we should sign him immediately.

Draxler not trying to leave PSG after Neymar arrival, says agent:
(Per FFT)
Despite clubs including Liverpool and Arsenal being credited with interest in Julian Draxler, the PSG player's agent says he isn't leaving.

Julian Draxler is not seeking a move away from Paris Saint-Germain in the wake of Neymar's arrival for a world-record fee of €222million.
The Germany international's agent Roger Wittmann denied reports in France that Draxler is considering his future at the club after the signing of Neymar from Barcelona.
Draxler joined PSG from Bundesliga side Wolfsburg in January, but is yet to feature for the club after starring in Germany's triumph at the Confederations Cup.
Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool have all been linked with a move for the 23-year-old, but Wittmann insisted Draxler will stay with PSG.
"We are not interested in whether [French newspaper] L'Equipe wrote something," Wittmann said to Sport 1 in Germany. "There has been no change, it is not a topic.
"If somebody writes 'I have this information from [PSG chairman and CEO] Nasser Al-Khelaifi,' then I will consider it and call the president to speak about Julian's situation.
"Once again, though, this is not the case. So, everything has been said."

I still think that he's going to play as a number 10,they just can't sell him now. It's too soon, and all this image that they are trying to create with Neymar,is going to fall if they sell him now.
It dosn't make sense.

Dembele and Pulisic are much better than Draxler. Can't understand the obsession with the guy. He's good, but that's it.

Dortmund will not be able to keep Dembele much longer but with a little luck they can keep Pulisic...
I think PSG will sold Draxler for FFP but absolutely not now, either in the winter or at the start of next summer (if they sold him before 30 June the money can be counted for 2017/18) and will be stupid sell any of their stars before seeing who is expendable

Correction, Dembele and Pulisic are much more talented than Draxler. People underestimate the importance of age for young talents; they often lack consistency and defensive ability, and need much more time to mature than people expect.

Which leads me to my next point: Draxler is 23 years and 11 months old. He's unlikely to improve very much, if at all, from his current, decent, not good enough to be a starter for Bayern level.

Finally, a good way to compare Draxler to some other attackers is to look at how his performance for national team compares to the other major attacking midfielders. The main players in that position nowadays are Muller, Ozil, Draxler, Gotze, Reus(when uninjured, which is never), and Schurle. Unfortunately, the young talents like Gnabry, Sane, Brandt, Max Meyer, etc don't have enough playing time to fairly compare them to Draxler, but all of the players above do.
Muller has 70 scorer points(goals+assists) in 6518 minutes of play for one goal or assist every 93 minutes.
Ozil has 58 scorer points in 6782 minutes for one goal or assist every 117 minutes.
Gotze has 27 scorer points in 3463 minutes for one goal or assist every 128 minutes.
Reus has 13 scorer points in 1838 minutes for one goal or assist every 141 minutes.
Schurler has 30 scorer points in 2390 minutes for one goal or assist every 80 minutes(this might have something to do with him mainly playing against weaker opposition).

Draxler, on the other hand, has 10 scorer points in 2118 minutes for one goal or assist every 212 minutes, much worse than any of the others.
Frankly, I don't see him staying as a starter for Germany in the long term. Depending on how well they play, Gotze or Brandt might even displace him by the time of the world cup. I don't see why anyone would a player not good enough for Germany's XI as starter on our team.

I don't really see what Draxler would add to this team.
I like him just fine, but he wouldn't displace anyone to start, and I don't really think he brings anything to the table that we don't already have.

Nope, he is not in the list of possible departures. All sources who close to PSG says he is not for sale.
