Rather than him... And there WERE other options... Regardless... Even as a backup - he has to improve - and fast!

He hasn't even a level to be back-up in Bayern.

Contento 2012 is better than him right now.

No debating its been a real tough year on the guy rather surprisingly. I would say in Pep's eyes there clearly weren't other options as he wanted Alaba in CB which is another debate entirely. Bring on tomorrow!

People seem to forget that the only reason why Bernat is playing so many minutes recently is because of our injury situation.

Bernat and Rafinha are 2 good backups for the LB and RB positions. We just cannot have 2 world class players for each position and those 2 are fine.

Pep will play anyone before real CBs... he always found space for Rafinha and Bernat with other options available... another manager wouldn't have done the same.

He is definitely good enough for a backup. In the past two seasons, he fared pretty well against the majority of our BL and CL opponents. It's clear that we cannot yet depend on him when faced with the very best of opponents out there, which are a few. He is still young, though, and there is a chance he might be good enough one day for the "big" games. You cannot have someone like Alaba as a backup. Even spoiled clubs don't have such luxury.

Nah, it's not... It's something (or someone ;) ) else... I'm fine with him playing when we need an LB because the first one (Alaba) is injured... But taking Alaba away tom play someplace else in order to play Bernat... Not cool...

Badstuber is injured while Benatia is injured for 99% of the time. We also cannot rely on slow CB's with our current tactics, so I think it was the right decission. It was either Bernat or Tasci

Kimmich?!
Played there against Juve... Twice... Played there against Benfica... Played there for about half a Bundesliga Rückrunde... Yet for that game it has to be Alaba?

If this guy is okay with being a backup, I have no problem with him staying. And so far he hasn't whined about lack of playing time, as far as I'm concerned, he can stay.

Who care about the spanish national team ?

Del Bosque choice aren't the best. Monreal is ten time better than him for example.

I rather have the algerian national team left back (Ghoulam, who is top) or player like Tremoulinas and Henri Bedimo than Bernat. [-o<
