Bayern supposedly wants €80m for Jerome Boateng - too much for PSG, who initially offered €50m. It is quite possible that in the coming days both clubs will agree on a transfer fee in the middle. [Sky]

Imagine if we actually get more than €50M for a player.

You mean imagine if we finally accept one. Perhaps my memory doesn't serve me well but I seem to remember bids for Ballack and Ribéry coming in for that price range back when the market wasn't so overblown as it is now.

Good strategy from bayern, maybe boateng really market value is less than 50 millions, but Bayern will double it against a client that buy players for no sense price, so to this type of client, sell them HARD!

So not getting 50M for a player in the past has been a matter of choice.

So what has us not selling players we don't want to sell got to do with us actually getting good money for players we're willing to let go this time?

Precisely, but right now we are playing a different game - we want to get rid of Boateng which wasn't a case with Ballack and Ribéry.

We want 80 mil to show our competition how we can be at least part of this club in terms of selling players, but the number 80 certainly won't be reached in Boateng's case, not that I don't want to, quite contrary, it's a dream coming true to sell a CB for 80 mil €.
Van Dijk's record fee is something insane, but unlike Boateng, he's enjoying in best football of his life at LFC while Boateng has been struggling with his drop in form for the last 2 years.

If we manage to meet with PSG around 65-70 mil €, that would be more than perfect for a 29-year-old CB.

The ideal scenario for me would be to keep Boa and he returns to his old self with us and also buying Pavard this yr.
But it ain't gonna happen...

I hate losing / selling players to competition...

I think we would regret letting Boateng go.

Question is my friend, Hummels or Boateng ? I think the answer is obvious...

Sule,Mai,Pavard plus Hummels. We talk about rejuvenation but we always something hold us back well now it's time for risks and Boateng-Pavard worth the risk in my opinion. To be honest I like Boa but truth is he opened the door on his own and he will never be the super-defender of 2014-16 again.. Back to back injuries and the individual errors are coming up again. It's now or never, I don't think next year he'll worth up to 50m

Let's face it - it's only matter of time. KHR said "we must wait and see if we can find a base of an agreement that would be acceptable for both parties."

PSG is going to sell at least one or two players in these days - Guedes, Cavani, Trapp or Rabiot. After that they are ready to pay the money for Jerome.

And that's automatically is opens space for Pavard. For him the problem is that he wants playing time. With Boateng in PSG, there are plenty of opportunities for him and Süle to shine. Hummels should be starting every game - at least for now, IMHO.
