We all do, but the main point of the Martinez rumour is to bring someone better. Personally, I do not see Martinez as that someone.

If anything, Gustavo himself has said that he'd like a bigger challenge so I don't see why not tbh, gives us good options in the engine of the team. I like Gustavo too but sometimes, he's just doesn't do what's is required of him to do.

He's required to be a destroyer and close the gaps in the defense. And Gustavo does just that.

But he didn't do that against a number of teams this year. Generally speaking, you don't know which side of Gustavo you're going to get

Bull. He was awesome when used correctly (v Real and Man City). It's never a question of whether or not he has a good day, it's about how Jupp uses him. Considering he's looking at players like Martinez and Bender, I think Jupp can't properly use a wrecking ball like Gustavo.

No that's what i'm trying to say, against teams which we dominate he seems to be quiet but he comes alive in big matches

(Capitalising on Quazzi's words)
Jupp doesn't like -
1- Wrecking balls. Hence playing Kroos at CDM multiple times this season. I think Khedira is good because Heynckes likes Box-to-Box midfielders and Khedira delivers just that.
2 - Dynamic players. Hence seeing Muller and Robben, arguably our 2 most dynamic players, become the main casualties of the Jupp era.
I also agree that CDMs are some of the most underrated players in the game. They quietly do everything and without a destroyer like Me Gustavo, Bayern would be screwed even harder on the counter, they close the gaps in the defence and fill the gap between the defence and the attack just perfectly. Just look at how pathetic Germany was experimenting with 4-1-4-1 and 4-1-3-2. A formation without a destroyer very easily shows and Gustavo is about one of the best destroyers you could ask for nowadays. It would be stupid to go with no natural CDM especially for Bayern (and Germany) since they play a high-line, high-possession-based football. It will show on the counter especially against teams such as Dortmund and Monchengladbach. Javi isn't better than Gustavo either, if that's anyone's argument, far from it indeed.

I wouldn't call Robben "dynamic", rather "direct", but yeah, Jupp doesn't seem to like him.

Bringing in Martinez would give more competition to Gustavo and he will be better.
