Bayern bietet 26 Mio. Euro für Martínez

Unbelivable, still not enough to bring him in Munich. How stubborn and limited can be our club in Martinez case... :x

You guys are probably not very much into Spanish football, but there are 0% chances of Athletic accepting a 26M bid for Javi Martinez.

I can only see him leaving for less than 40M if the player says to the media that he wants to leave, and I don't think he is going to to that. Basque philosophy is very different.

Most people don't get this man. You don't need to be extra smart to conclude how 2+2=4.

First offer 40M, then you can start talking with Basks and then with a player. That's a law of football market, nothing fresh new in this business.

I don't think we should go over that 26m mark. Would rather go for Khedira at this point.
Jesus saves, but Kahn does it better ;)

F*ck Madrid. If we're going to that sort of price for a player then there's no chance of adding a player on top of that!

If you said which player I'd rather spend €35mil on, it certainly wouldn't be the Spaniard!

Kind of agree in a sense that I think we still need a world class CB but that could easily end up being Javi so maybe spending 40 Million might not be too bad at all, I mean Chelsea have already spent 80 Million and Paris has spent 99 Million

I'm not really fussed what other teams are spending. Especially ones like Chelsea and PSG who are basically just bankrolled by rich benefactors.

It seems like a pipe-dream now. I really think everyone at Bayern is keen on Martínez -- and this would be done if the player was sold to us below €30 mill. But going from this player to Bender or even the rumoured de Jong is like really wanting a filet mignon steak, but opting for a taco.

No I totally agree with you, don't get me wrong I think teams such as Man City, Chelsea, PSG, Malaga etc. are ruining football with mega rich owners, but I just fear that if we don't start spending big soon, we might not be able to no longer compete with the big teams and I fear we might get left behind. I mean, when we've spent quite a bit on a player, we've usually done quite well in that season (e.g. Robben and Gomez in 2009/10, Neuer 2011/12) and I think if we spend a fair amount of money on Martinez, I believe we'll do well this season, and personally, I'd like to see some of the money from champions league spent on players.

What chelsea is doing now is horrible. If they do not get banned, they will become an all star team. They are snapping up young players with large contracts which no one can match them. They already spent 60m on players and they are't done. Hopefully, these ruiners of soccer will be banned and we can continue to play good football.but first we need to sign martinez

We don't need another CB, we have three top CB's and a good veteran in DVBuyten.
St. Arnulf of Metz - Bishop & member of the court of the Frankish king Theodebert II of Austrasia. A noble, Arnulf married Doda & their son was Ansegisel. Ansegisel married Beggia, the daughter of Pepin of Landen, starting the Carolingian dynasty.

Heynckes used to coach Bilbao... I am sure he knows exactly what they think. It's called hope, which may later turn into embarrassment.

As long as Bayern get a world class DM, CB, or AM i can call this transfer period a complete success....if they dont well.....then it was just a routine transfer window....
