I agree with everyone by reading between the lines in that it feels scary not signing a world class player aside from just upgrading the bench -- as if the season goes poorly, then we all will just pinpoint that as an issue.

15 Million Euros for Gustavo, and we got a decent player but he's still not the best player around. I agree 40 Million is ridiculous but in all honesty, to ride with the big boys, we have to pay for players like big boys and I just hope we get a marquee signing this summer, its so frustrating to be a Bayern fan sometimes...

At least Bayern or Barcelona have no interest in spending €40m on this guy....

Bayern staff should stop making fools of themselves. Indecent? Heck, they don't want to sell the player. How or why is that indecent? It's not like the player is making any pressure either...

I absolutely agree with you. And 'negotiating' in the way like this is already tradition for Bayern. If, for instance, someone comes to Ferrari owner to buy the car, only Ferrari owner dictates the price because he is the owner (unless there is massive reduction on price). Martinez is very good player, Bilbao wants to get good money on him and do not want to sell him, what is the point for these uncles to moan about indecent price every time?
Reus, Vidal, Coentrao, Van Nistelrooy and...Martinez. History repeats again...Why then not to move on Fellaini or Witsel or someone else?

Bayern have reportedly increased their offer to 26 million euros. If it's true, I think it's a reasonable price, and also the highest we should go.

The rumours are still going! Yeah, €26mil is a fair price.

If that's how much we're reportedly offering,Barca must be a lot less.

26 million euro would be our second highest purchase in history, and one has to wonder whether he even has the skill to immediately break into the starting XI.

To be honest, it looks like we're getting Lars Bender now, given that Athletico are being adamant with their 40 Mill. But I really hope we still get Javi....

I doubt Bayern would pay that much for Bender. I think it's going to be De Jong...

No way €25m for Bender is ridiculous, rather take my chances on Martinez and De Jong....
