In regards to the 40 million asking price:

KHR wrote: I am not optimistic, because I'm honest. Its president has always emphasized that he wants the player does not sell, nor a price under the clause.... There is no club in Europe who is willing to pay that price. I maintain a good relationship with Barcelona and Barcelona is not ready to join this magnitude.

Anyways... http://www.goal.com/en/news/15/germany/ ... -meet-javi

I think think this means that Athletic will lower their asking price or Bayern will find an alternative that is still a Bomb but costs less. M'Vila anyone? Either way this could be a blessing in disguise =P~

I doubt it Bilbao dont wanna sell and Martinez doesnt wanna move yet so no one has to do anything, I think Bayern shud just move on to the next options since it seems very clear neither side wants to budge.....

This is what happens when you spend too much time on this forum:

"T, did you interview Javier Martinez?'
Me: "Hm, wha'?"
"The prospect, did you interview him?"
Me, puzzled as hell: "I am not following you..."
"The guy who applied for the job. Did you meet with him. The CV is on your inbox."
True enough the applicant name was Javier Martínez. 30 minutes into the interview and about 1,000 questions later
Me: "What are your aspirations, salary wise?" (You f*cking say 6 million/year and you are getting thrown out of this office!)
Javi Martínez: "$$$$$$"
Me: "Ok... [True story] How many goals do you expect to score?"
Javi Martínez: 'What??'
Me: "Oops!"

Hope he wasn't wanting a €40mil transfer fee!

Point is, Javi Martinez is a lot more versatile than options such as Khedira, and in fact we could play both LG and JM at the same time - Boateng out, Martinez in.

And I like to also point out that when Schweini was injured last season, no one could replace him...
"2013 - Bayern WILL win in Wembley." quoted the day Bayern lost the CL final.

May 25th, I was right.

We do now have Shaqiri and other options to come in meaning we can move Kroos back.

I'm not convinced Martinez is worth anywhere near €40mil and clearly the board aren't either. We shouldn't be held to ransom by such a provincial club.

Two reasons why we should get him:
a) Tymoschuk is getting older and we'll rely on him less and less
b) He's potentially even more versatile than Luiz Gustavo and he can play like Schweini

I really think we need a marquee signing this summer especially after the CL final, but I agree 40 Million is way over the top, don't mind 28-32 Million. I just don't want the board to realize its too late if he say goes to Barcelona etc. its what happened with Sergio Aguero before, we just are forceful enough sometimes...

But why him? Why not someone like Sahin? Khedira? Proven players are what we really need!

But would Arsenal let him go? They've already lost Robin and possibly Theo too.
