I think Javi will stay and Bayern will likely have a lot space for him both as CB and as midfielder...
We do not know yet what systems Ancelotti is thinking to use for next season and the buying suggest strongly who at least one wingerless system will be used: so at least two different systems from that: 4-3-3, 4-2-3-1, 4-3-2-1, 4-3-1-2, 3-4-3, 3-5-2 or a 4-4-2...

From 101goals :
Martinez to City?
Manchester City are set to sign Bayern Munich star Javi Martinez, according to reports breaking on Saturday.

Pep Guardiola was believed to be drafting in a mystery centre-half and it looks as though it’s Martinez. The pair have worked together before during Guardiola’s time as Bayern manager. Martinez impressed with his versatility.

BT Sport journalist Anthony Harris regularly covers City and claims that Martinez and Dani Alves will have medicals with the club next week. Alves’ transfer from Juventus has been anticipated for weeks now.

It makes absolute zero sense to sell a proven world beater like Javi, coming off a strong season like the last one, to accommodate two unproven youngsters. I just don't understand the board's functioning this year. Having said that this move sounds pretty bogus and I hope the board will quash this story soon.

Perheps Javi is thinking that he'll play much fewer games this season then last. With the signing of Süle and Tolisso he must think that his chances of playing regularly at Bayern have decreased. It's a World Cup season and he wants regular playing time.

Are you serious? You are talking like you were born yesterday, sure doesn't seem like you were around in 2013. Just because he had injury setbacks doesn't mean he has lost his touch, Carlo hasn't even tried playing him in midfield. Plus, the red card aside he did very well as a makeshift CB last season. Lastly, are you saying we should sell him?

I was happy seeing the council make offer to the Carrasco, now comes this news, what sadness. Losing Javi to shit City would be ridiculous

Like bastos said, except if City accept a swap with Sané there is no way this happen.

Martinez sold isn't the worse thing that could happen to Bayern. But we still need him.

But it is expected that someone will be disappointed to be fourth choice. Süle is way ahead of Badstuber in recent years and Javi in midfield does not seem to be a possibility.

I can see us selling Javi and getting some late 20s decent CB. Obviously as far as quality is concerned it would be best not to.

But we'd be with just 3 CBs again...that's a very very risky thing to do, as we've seen for TWO seasons in a row now. One would hope the board has learned from the previous seasons, and will let us have 4 CBs.
