The website doesn’t make it clear if there are any contacts to take the player from Spezia, although things seem to be in very early stages, with club just making trips to Italy to take a look at his displays. But the story already makes it clear that he could be leaving the country very soon.

Italians are mother's boys so tbh I don't think that he will leave home especially at the tender age of 18

Well, if this is true finally I get my wish for having a short(er), hopefully more agile, CB in the squad.

There's more to this transfer than previously reported. T-Online is arguing Corbo will be Rafinha's replacement; contract which runs out this summer and (TBC) has not been renewed.

Gabriele Corbo, a 1.86m Centre Back born in Naples, has been capped for Italy's U18 NT six times already and HIS contract runs out in a few months. Looks like Bayern wants to move him to the side as a Kimmich back up . . . and on a free transfer.

The funny part is Corbo has shown already his more than curious interest in Bayern Munich, posting this picture on his Instagram account about two weeks ago: https://instagram.com/gabriele_corbo/?u ... ofilevisit

(MUTU, we seem to have reached an attachment quota limit; can't upload pictures.)

The reason for the picture? Unknown. The caption on the post reading this: Buona la prima de #BayernMonaco

T-Online is arguing that could have been part of a medical and a trial training session. They are also arguing a 255,000 compensation to Spezia Calcio despite the expiring contract.

It would be interesting to see what comes out of this transfer.

He had an audition for us.

http://www.mondoprimavera.com/2018/03/0 ... -dettagli/

He spent one week in Munich; you can see there's also a picture of him in the Allianz Arena on his Instagram profile. "Buona la prima" is an Italian way to say someone has had quite a good first performance. In football, it is usually used when a player or coach has his debut for a team. EG: The new Bayern coach (let's say Tuchel) wins the Supercup on his debut: "Tuchel, buona la prima!"

Yes, he had a trial with FC Bayern.

But I doubt he'd be a Rafinha replacement. How often have we signed a player for the first team that had to undergo a trial? Usually the latter would be used for FC Bayern II.

I suspect he'll still come, seems like a way to get his current club a bit more money but they need cash so I expect they'll still sell, extension or not

What a win for his club, eh. Not a great way to kick off with new employers though.

Exclusive: Juventus set to beat Bayern Munich to wonderkid signing
According to what has been learned from CalcioMercato, Juventus are set to challenge, and beat, Bayern Munich to the signing of Spezia’s Italian wonderkid Gabriele Corbo.

Corbo, born in 2000, is a product of Mino Raiola and, given the good relations between the agent and Juventus, the Old Lady are set to beat Bayern Munich to what would be an exciting coup looking forward to the future.

In the past few hours, Juventus representatives have met Guido Angelozzi, the sporting director of Spezia, in Milan to discuss a deal. Spezia only renewed the player’s contract in recent months, yet Juventus are looking to strengthen their homegrown contingent of youth stars, with Corbo set to be an important signing.

Bayern Munich looked very close, yet the Old Lady are now in pole; with everything set in motion to bring Gabriele Corbo to Turin. [source]
