It's still not a good idea, even if he is just a backup. We will have Coman, Gnabry and Ribéry for the left. We can forget about even attempting Martial now.

IMO SS is Gnabry's best position, but that can't be done unless it's a 2-striker formation.

Coman at the RW is a bad idea. Non-inverted wingers are obsolete.

I am okay with both him and Robben extending, provided that they both stop throwing tantrums and accept a sub role.

They are club legends and I hope both can retire with something great next year.

Ribery must accept a sub role if his performance through the season is lower than Coman or Gnabry but no way I will accept him as substitution for an important match if he still better than others.

Also Gnabry still have to show in bayern if he is a world class now or if is still growing and Coman has to keep healthy as much as possible.

Gnabry will eventually overtake Mueller role from the team because he plays best behind the striker, exactly where Mueller fits in. The guy can also cover both LW, RW, he's speedy and skillful as Coman.

So I don't think Bayern will buy any new winger for the next season except in the case Robben denies the new contract.

Regarding Martial, I have no idea why we have to chase him, this guy is unreliable and not better than what we've got for the future. Malcom is better suited on our RW situation though, but Robben must leave for him.

Let's guess robben extends too. We would have muller and james as AM, coman and ribery as LW and robben as RW. It's true that i don't bayern plan with gnabry or not, but i don't know about any word about that coming from the board, just an article from bild or sportbild. If we plan with all them and we weren't going to buy anyone there should't be such mistery about that. By the way i remember some words about gnabry coming back but that it just means that he is on loan there just for one season and not that we can't buy a great RW because of him.

So we could renew robben and ribery, keep james, coman and muller and get a great RW, then loan gnabry again or sell him with option to rebuy and get him back when robben leaves or keep him now if robben eventually goes out.

In fact robben and a new RW who may not be proven is better scenario than if we have gnabry with such less experience and not so great as robben

ST: Lewandowski, Wagner, Gnabry
LW: Coman, Ribery
RW: Malcom, Robben
CAM/SS: James, Mueller

And if Dybala comes that means more depth in every position as we will have to deal with 3-4 key injuries next year again.

Except that we're neither getting a new winger nor Dybala...
