As I said before, Ribery has four or five months to convince that he is still able to play professional football at the highest level. Otherwise, he will have no place in the team, since it is Bayern Munich and not the Harlem Globetrotters.

Jesus Christ, some people really need to understand what a contract means.

"Jesus Christ" some people need to actually listen before they speak. You and I disagree on the value of paying a loyal player like Ribery for one more year to be a great sub whenever available. I was speaking about Ending Ribery's 'Bayern career', not his entire football career.

Unless you learn to debate like an adult I don't see any reason I should waste my time dealing with you. Get the facts straight yourself before you look dumb acting like someone else is the idiot.

I said Bayern will let his contract run out, which is one more year, no ?

In his ninth season with Bayern Munich, Franck Ribery wants to make sure his time with the club lasts at least a decade. The 32-year-old winger revealed his desire to extend his contract in an interview "Bild" published on Friday, as well as offers from China he turned down.
"I have already talked a little with Uli Hoeness and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge about a new contract," said Ribery. "I still want to stay here one, two more years longer. I am happy, truly happy, to live in Munich. It's great for my wife and children.
"Money is not the most important thing for me," said Ribery. If I want a lot more money, I would have to go to China. I had an offer. I'm not interested! Now I want to have fun with the fans and win another title at Bayern - this is my club.""

With the competition that exist in England and Spain in better contracts, better salaries and more competition between elite teams, Bayern can make the difference in giving a special treatment to the players who gave too much during his career in the club.

The good treatment that lack in Real Madrid and other strong teams in England and Spain to their figures, make Bayern to be see for many good players as the place to come and enjoy a comfortable career.

That’s why right now we are watching many important players like Lahm, Muller, Javi Martinez, Boateng and Neuer extending their contracts with us, despite winning everything with the club. They feel bayern as a family.

We should think about it 3x times before extending their contracts.

As long as Bayern want to extend, this one should be pretty straightforward. Ribery's comment that he wants to keep playing as long as possible seems to suggest that he sees a relation between Bayern not wanting him anymore and his retirement.

Has a player/assistant coach arrangement ever been done? I'd really love to see Ribery giving us a hand with the youths in the future. He obviously has a great attitude towards helping young players. The two latest who went under his wing prospered incredibly (Alaba and Coman)

He still has a contract until the end of next season and he's approaching retirement ages. No hurry in his case.

Nooooo!

Cannot, cannot let Ribery go. Been one of our best ever players and is still one of the best wide options at the club in my opinion (Coman still needs more experience, Robben should be moved central). Give him at least a 2 year extension, get him to mentor Coman or loan Coman out, Ribery still has so much to give

Dude seriously... You wanna compete for 2. Bundesliga? This is the first season in 3 years where we're able to field two wingers in every game... And just when we achieved that you want to go and sell or loan them out right away?!
