His skillsets have translated very well as a CB and the best part is that he has his best years ahead of him at the tender age of 27(28 this year). Bayern really need to ask themselves real hard if they want to lose a player as talented like Alaba.
Welcome to the Allianz Arena....

Alaba on whether living in cities like Madrid or Barcelona would appeal to him: "Yes. I don't know whether during or after my career. But I can definitely imagine it"

Alaba on the time after his career: "I know how fast-moving football is and how my life has been so far. But I can imagine to move away for one or two years at one point – for example to live in the US & get to know the culture. Or in Austria, in Vienna. Or in Munich. We'll see"

Alaba is our guy, a special and versatile footballer who emerged quickly as a leading player and should be a top-earner!
We can't afford losing Alaba who is only 27-year old and plays two positions extremely well so plain and simple he is irreplaceable and much needed in the present and future! RENEW him NOW

This is a no brainer. Must have extension for all the reasons everyone above has mentioned. To me he is the true captain of the team and a mentor to all the young players

We always seem to way a bit to long for contract extensions. Just a bit too much to for uncertainty to build. We could have sealed the deal months ago

For this summer he should forget it.

Jesus. His contract ends in 2021!

I would rather lose him for free than to a discounted price due to the crises we are in.

IMO we should ask for 90million. If not he may leave for free the next summer

And of course you stop there.
We're not a bank. The money we could get from him would go straight into other (discounted) transfers.
Sané ---- Lewandowski ---- Gnabry
Davies - Thiago - Kimmich - Dest
Hernández -- Alaba -- Upamecano

Alaba is part of our backbone.... we cannot lose him... if we do it will be one of the darkest days in the hist of our club.
I would rather sacrifice Thiago than him.
We can offer him whatever he wants ; even a role in mdf .... He is our future Capt.

To be honest, he's expendible at the moment. He's not our best LB and he's not our best CD. If everyone was fit, there's a real possibility of him starting on the bench.

There was a time when he was the world's best LB, but now he's not even the best at the club IMHO.

This is Blasphemy...

He is playing superbly at cb and I am pretty sure that he will do the same if he is deployed in mdf.

I would not shy away from a three men mdf comprising of Kimmich Fein Alaba
Dest as our new RWB then a choice of Sule Pavard Lucas Upamechano in cd with Davies as LWB of course.

There are realistic chances that David Alaba will leave Bayern this summer. [@cfbayern]
