Jupp Heynckes in an exclusive interview with @cfbayern says that he will definitely retire in the summer, that 'Thomas Tuchel has the quality to manage FC Bayern' and that 'the club knows what he wants'.

Welcome,Mr.Tuchel ?

Jupp Heynckes has informed the team some time ago that he will retire after the end of this season - Some players don't like the fact that the identity of new coach has not been known yet [@Sky_Torben]

Finally.

This completely explains Jupp's reaction this Sunday after Freiburg when he was close to get angry after the Sky journalist's poke on his possible staying next season.

Good to hear that he admires Tuchel's work and coaching qualities. Bayern has no other option but to risk in any case whether that will be Tuchel, Streich, Kovač or Neururer.

Welcome,Mr.Tuchel ?

“The club knows what he wants” could this possibly be a transfer wishlist? Can’t see Tuchel demanding any other thing...

Actual phrasing was "Der Klub weiß, was er will"....without more context, still not sure but assume it's referring to Tuchel

From that context I‘d say he means Bayern...

Heynckes on Tuchel: "I appreciate him. Dortmund played great football under him with a very good system. He finished runner-up, won the Pokal and BVB were so attractive to watch. Since he left, they didn't play such great football. He has the quality for Bayern" [SportBild]

Heynckes on Nagelsmann: "He is undoubtedly a huge coaching talent. But he is just 30 years old and must certainly continue to learn"

Heynckes on Niko Kovač: "Niko has played at Bayern and knows the club. But it would be great if he plays in Europe next year with Eintracht Frankfurt and gain international experience"

Tuchel it is then...

Shame that Kovac won't be considered...

Many are forgetting Kovac international experience with the Croatia NT...

Who knows he might end up with Dortmund and .... .... ....

Is this a thinly-veiled dig at Streich?

He failed in Croatia, but everyone would fail with such a crew as Croats, who always have big problems with their corrupted mentality which is also manifested on the entire society, not just football and other sports.

Kovač has future in front of him, he just needs to continue in this way and after that pick Schalke or Dortmund before he gets the opportunity to coach an elite club.

I'm glad to hear from Jupp the positive words and compliments on Tuchel's work, de facto he is advising, as many people expected to see that from him, Bayern's board to hire him as a successor.

I agree with that and Tuchel no matter what kind of ego and personality he's got is the right choice for the future of the club.
