Personally, I would have let CA finish out the season, or at least until the break if they continued the downward trend. But I don't know what goes on behind closed doors either. If you lose the players (and maybe he had), you ought to probably make a change.

I also agree that Nagelsmann isn't a great fit for the squad at this point.

My concern with the way they're heading is they have no chemistry as a team yet. It's almost as if it's every man for himself. It's early, so there is time to get things figured out

Now, after 2 games Hoff is dead last in their Group with zero points in a Group that does not seem too strong (Braga, Ludogorets Razgrad and Istanbul Basaksehir).

Nagelsmann is an outstanding coach but at this moment he lacks experience to coach a team like Bayern Munich.
Yep. That's 4 losses in 4 matches coached in Europe. Two in the Champions League qualifiers against Liverpool and two in the Europa League group stage. Looks like we'll need to hit the pause button on this guy.

As I and others have said (and as evidenced by the lineups Hoffenheim has fielded in EL), I don't think they're really concerned with Europe right now. Hoffenheim's focus is purely on maintaining a good BL spot and anything extra that comes in Europe is a bonus. They sent out a bunch of randy's and youth players today.

No wonder we looked like we were playing without a plan: it's because there literally wasn't one.

Here are the bookmaker odds on next Bayern coach. Interesting that Nagelsmann's the favourite

Here's a handful more current odds from around the web (next manager defined as "next manager to coach at least 10 games")

SkyBet:
Conte - 25/1
Klopp - 16/1
Xabi Alonso - 14/1 (Pretty sure he's not going to be eligible for a bit...)
Tuchel - 7/4
Nagelsmann - 4/6

BetVictor:
Enrique - 16/1
Nagelsmann - 6/4
Tuchel - 4/5

PaddyPower:
Jardim, Pellegrini, Lahm (???) - 25/1
Enrique, Van Gail - 14/1
Sagnol - 13/5
Tuchel - 12/5
Nagelsmann - 5/6

Bwin:
Blanc, Klinsmann, Alonso, Löw, Klopp: +3300
Sagnol, Heynckes: +600
Tuchel: +150
Nagelsmann: -125

Nice write up by the NYT

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/09/28/spor ... fired.html

“Carlo is a calm, balanced expert, who knows how to deal with stars and favors a multifaceted style of play,” Rummenigge said when Ancelotti’s appointment was confirmed.

I doubt Rummenigge still sees it that way now.

Hey guys, you should consider that we took two Hoffenheim key players: Rudy and Süle as well, so Nagelsmann can't be treated as if he were managing a top club, and Tuchel is awesome but for me his game style is a 2.0 Pep

I think our PR will be negatively affected if we directly poach Nagelsmann.

I just bet €25 on Tuchel becoming the next Bayern manager at 3.75.

Both Nagelsmann and Tuchel are Bavarian. That'll do. I dare say the successor will be officially announced not long after the next game.

I tend to prefer Nagelsmann - he seems to have the right passion and seems to be able to motivate the players.

Although I think it is also time to pull the plugs on Robben and Ribery - and invest in some promising young talent.

Will be interesting to see what happens to James... since he was a pure CA acquisition.

that is why we need a proper sports director and not Brazzo

Tuchel is Bavarian ? :verysurprised:

they are throwing all the names ... I am surprised that I didn't see the names of Matthaus, Scholl, Bassler, Effenberg or Kahn!
