Profi-contract doesn't automatically mean third choice for the first team tho, right? Don't we have some more young goalies on contract? I'm not entirely sure how those things work, so if anyone could enlighten me?

Nah... It just means that he actually earns money now and it's harder for him to change clubs... AFAIK that's always done at 16...

Nah! He can't sign a professional contract because he is still under 18.
As soon as he turns 18, I'm sure Bayern will bind him with a long-term contract.

Re: Christian Früchtl

Can someone please verify my reasoning?

Christian Früchtl is currently 17, so he may not sign a professional contract yet. His current contract runs out at the end of this season.
However, he turns 18 on 28th January. Does that mean he could technically sign a contract with another club on 28th January (i.e. on his 18th birthday) and move on in a free transfer at the end of this season?

Is this a loophole in the transfer system? Is there a way for a club to secure its players turning into adults?

Früchtl will stay with us if Bayern offer him a professional contract. I'm not concerned at all. What I do ask myself, how talented is he and can he become our future no. 1? If he isn't as talented as I think, then his future at Bayern is doubtful.
Currently we have no idea who's gonna play in the next season. Ulreich is waiting for offers to see what clubs are interested in him, Starke after his retirement has returned to serve us as no. 2 while Neuer is absent and Früchtl is no. 4, ie no. 3 at the moment.
Bayern need to solve no. 2 status during and after this season, wait to see if Starke will once again retire and then decide what to do with Früchtl. Right now everything is so great with GK situation, but when take this all into consideration, we might have troubles in the upcoming summer. :|
