go fck yourslfs short attention span wankers

Actually the way we wankers judge this is precisely not black and white, you're the one who thinks that.

Black and white means a set of result always have the same implication - i.e. " reaching CL semi finals is considered good", "a Bundesliga win is always enough".

Results should be judged against our capacity. Sure, multiple CL semi finals last decade would've been outstanding for our then-quality. With our financial power now, and how much easier CL have been for the past 2 or so years, losing it by missing players because we haven't done enough in the transfer market is not good enough.

So no, it's most definitely not "black and white".

To me: the issue is clearly the lack of quality in the Bundesliga. In the past 4 seasons when we have faced elite clubs in the UCL we are either ran off the field (in 1 leg) or make shocking mistakes (Rafinha/Ulreich, red cards and missed penalties). Do we consistently make these mistakes because we tighten under pressure or because that is simply what we are/do and Bundesliga competition doesn't make us pay for our mistakes.

The lack of competition also cheapens the accomplishments. At-least in the Pokal we single handily knocked out Leipzig and Dortmund, so for me the Pokal is more meaningful than the Bundesliga Title this season. And yet consider our mindset heading into the Final - if we Win then we are Champs but if we Lose then we still get the other teams Coach. This also applies to players - how good would Dortmund be today with Lewandowski and/or Hummels? Granted they could have left for a foreign league just as Gundogan did. But now our fans want to acquire the Striker from one of the better clubs in a lackluster league.

IMO if we aren't winning the Champions League then I wouldn't mind if some of our talent especially guys like Rudy, Bernat, Ulreich (once Neuer returns) were playing against us. It would make the experience as a fan more worthwhile. Instead here comes Goretzka and Gnarby. Hopefully this puts us over the Top and in the UCL Final.

Yup, agree with the sentiments in the last few posts.

We had a really really good chance of adding atleast 2 CLs to the cabinet over these last 5-6 yrs if the right additions were made to the terrific squad we had assembled, to take them over the line in the CL.

Instead this generation will be confined to anonymity while Ramos+co will be making a mark for atleast several decades to come.

With no further attacking additions in sight, we were already going to suffer in the CL next year (at what stage depends on the draw). Now with a rookie coach at the top level hired, we are going to drop several places in the CL pecking order.

I just asked Mr. Falk about the rumour and his answer was - "Forget it. He is staying at Bayern this season, probably will play at China after that".

Sounds pretty concrete though, and we all know Falk is a motormouth.
