No thanks! I don't want a tax avoiding (alleged) rapist ego in the team I support.

33 years old, has 50 m euros wage? No thanks.

Also Real has perfect game plan for him, there is no way he will perform at same level with another team.

Ronaldo would be ineffective and useless against intelligent Bundesliga defenses

I seriously doubt there's remotely any truth to this... but...

If he can be bought for les than 100m and takes a pay cut, why not.

Yes, the guy is 32, but he would bring a ton of marketing potential! And why wouldn't he 2-3 years more at the top level?

Leipzig should have bought Emre Mor last year instead of Burke. He would have got enough minutes there and could be one of the highest rated players in Bundesliga this season (like Dembele).

The International thread is new to be fair.

Regarding the comment that the transfers we've made sound like Dortmund transfers: I'd have been mad if we let Süle slip tbh. Tolisso I haven't seen play but it seems many clubs were after him. Gnabry and Rudy, I agree but they've always been that traditional kind of Bayern transfer. In any case they're probably better than Costa and Alonso.

Are you really saying that Draxler is nothing special and on the same level than Brandt ?

I mean... seriously?

Yes, I am :) Also; yes.

Draxler is a technically skilled but not very intelligent player. I don't see him keeping his starting place with Germany in the long term.

Brandt, on the other hand, is a much more intelligent player, and has considerably more potential. In fact, I would say that he is about as good as Draxler is now despite being a couple more years away from his prime.

To put this all into prospective, let us compare Brandt with another player his age, Sane.

Sane racked up 8 goals and 6 assists playing for Schalke in the Bundesliga 2015/16, and 5 goals and 5 assists playing for Man City in the Premier league 2016/17.

Brandt, by way of comparison, had 9 goals and 5 assists playing for Neverkusen in the Bundesliga 2015/16, and 3 goals and 11 assists playing for them in the same competition 2016/17.

(I'm using transfermarkt as my source, by the way. They count assists in a different and better way than whoscored).

However, for some reason, people rightfully bemoan our failure to acquire Sane while making disparaging comments about Brandt. Undoubtedly, if Brandt moves abroad instead of to Bayern, people will end up criticizing the board for its failure the acquire yet another young German talent.

Honestly, if the rumors that Brandt has a buyout clause under 10 million euros that activates next summer are true, it seems foolish not to try acquire him for 2018/19. That doesn't seem to be that large of a price to play for a young, versatile, talent, especially after we've missed so many.
