Xherdan Shaqiri suffered a thigh injury against Albania and as a result is out for around two weeks.

"The exact diagnosis is not yet available, but based on experience, it's expected that Shaqiri will be out for a two weeks," said the Swiss team doctor Cuno Wetzel. [source]

Well this is bad for Shaqiri especially since he has found it hard to get playing time recently, but this could give Gotze a chance to move up the pecking order like when Gomez and Gustavo got hurt giving Martinez and Mandzukic their chance to shine....

Not really.
I was at the stadium and the game was really fair. There was no heavy challenge on Shaqiri.

That was not the case with the fans however.
After he scored the whole stadium was screaming "Shaqiri, Shaqiri, f*** your sister" in albanian non stop for about 5 minutes and after 7 mins he was subbed off.
It was really embarrasing :/

Well lets say that Albanians are passionate about football. Never mind if a player chooses not to play for them nut you can't blame Shaqiri because it wasn't like he was raised in Albania and brought up in their football system. People in Albania are starting to get impatient with our scouting system because it hasn't functioned very well and our only hope now is to lure Januzaj into playing for Albania. He could be the one who could start a change for the Albanian football team.
Here (at his club of six years Bayern Munich) it is always good, here I am happy and here it's fun. That is more important for me than the national team.

Bad news for us. We've been hit with quite a few injuries to key personnel early on this season.

Gotze should benefit from this. He'll get more chances quicker now.
