I'm just going to pronounce him: Thank you, FCB.

I'm so excited, if this is completed, that Bayern has landed a talented young player for a reasonable price. Of course, reasonable if he lives up to the hype, but I'm willing to give him time :D !

Clark Whitney SSNHD says a car w/ Swiss plates has arrived at the Bayern training ground. I'm assuming there isn't much yet to be said.

Clark Whitney Sport-Bild report that Shaqiri is undergoing a medical now

I wonder if it is part of the deal that it is not announced before the Champions League matches? Bayern have been awfully quiet about all of it...

Or maybe he's not being signed but doing a promo for the Facebook app :) Next week we'll have Messi.

On a side note, is it me or does Shaqiri look quite physically strong for a winger? Kinda like Hulk. Certainly a bigger lad than Robben... and hopefully not as easy to knock over either...

This is what I have been thinking. Maybe he can be moved to the centre in future as usually you would want the small agile player on the wings. Earlier I wrote we could buy Podolski for LM and have the strongest wingers in the world (in the literal sense)

BTW it will be a big conflict of interest (actually this will be the example of the meaning of the phrase) if Shaqiri will sign for us, yet play against us in CL knock out games.

Yes, he is. But also he is fast and have great shot. All in all, I will be very happy with this signing. He was my favorable option for a young prospect for backup winger (or even a starter, especially if Robben leaves).

Why are they going through all this stuff right now? The transfer window is shut, would it not be best just signing a pre-contract agreement subject to a medical at the end of the season and leave it at that?

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to be getting a player of obvious quality and potential. I just find the timing a wee bit off!
