Food for thought:

Did the club suffer in any way while Uli was in prison?
(As it relates to the duties of the president)

In which way did we suffer that could be directly attributed to not having Uli as president?

Sammer's exit (...or not?) could have been handled/mitigated differently.

Okay, now how do we attribute either of these to having Hopfner as president (and effectively Rummenigge running the club) rather than Hoeneß? In what way did we suffer in regards to transfer with Hopfner/KHR at the helm that we haven't with Hoeneß? What would Uli have done differently? What is there to suggest that Sammer left as a result of Hoeneß' absence?

Yep, a "brain illness". Soon they will blame Dreesen shooting himself on Hoeneß returning as president.

Please note the verbs I used were "handled" or "mitigated". Never suggested Uli could've changed his decision. Also remember that the illness "made Sammer reconsider his life priorities", it wasn't the cause of his stepping down.

I have no factual basis for this, but with Uli back in charge there was a clear urgency to find a sporting director (never mind who it ended up being...). I can imagine if Sammer had expressed his desire to leave to Uli Hoeneß the president, we could have made a move for an appropriate replacement as quickly as possible, and quite possibly not having to land Salihamidzic at all. Or perhaps Sammer could have been convinced to stay around for a tiny bit longer so we could transition a replacement. Remember Uli managed to convince a pensioner to get out of retirement.

The Supervisory Board of FC Bayern München has been unanimously re-elected for the next four years with Uli Hoeneß as its president.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Kovač: "Uli Hoeneß is FC Bayern. Uli has always been a fighter. The club needs him now more than ever. The fact that he wants to continue for 4 years shows his love for this club"

Of course.

I have flashbacks with Milan and Berlusconi. This is our way, i understand now.
