He has yet to be a steal, we paid 25M for him to spend most of his time in a clinic...

To be honest if you think Thiago's transfer value is the amount he brings to the team especially after his performance on Wednesday there is no point having this convo. Regardless value is a subjective term and maybe a majority of ppl or the market can reach a consensus but not everyone will have the same value....

This is a gross oversimplification. They really had no intention of letting him go at the start - the window of opportunity only came via his silly release clause which dictated extremely specific terms that Barcelona (hilariously mismanaged as it is) didn't understand correctly.

We paid 25M for him PLUS wages AND health expenses, and his return hasn't admittedly been high. However, you are missing the main point, which is that he still commands a high market value. If Bayern decide to sell Thiago in summer, I'm sure they'd be able to get at least €30M for him. With this in consideration, he's still been a good buy for Bayern.

Well I was zoning out but I thought he was quite good. Could be wrong though. Made a couple of mistakes but was one of our only creative outlets in my opinion. If Müller scores on any of the chances Thiago provides might have been a different day.

If Muller scored that goal, Thiago's assist would have been like Bernat's: a nice cover to a bad performance.

He was shocking. Just like the last couple of weeks to be honest. His goals against Bremen and Juve really cover up for that.

Meh maybe you are right. To be honest I only felt he was good because the whole forward line was awful. Well pretty much the whole team was awful Vidal was just running around playing for the whole team.

I "want" to see the Vidal-Thiago pairing succeed, but the sub role seems to be of more benefit to us than him starting from the beginning.

I also want to see Thiago succeed. But in this form he's no help.
Next wednesday it should be Kimmich-Vidal in midfield. Martínez at the back.

Benching him though means seeing Alonso out there, who is even a greater liability.
Hopefully Kimmich is ready for the midfield spot.
