Paphlagonian made a good observation on the other post regarding Keylor Navas. He's the kind of player who's never in the discussion about the world's best GKs, who's just "good enough" to handle weak domestic games, and who's just a placeholder until De Gea arrives. Yet, the guy will soon be awarded a third consecutive CL title (you know they will win it), being arguably the second most important player for Madrid in those campaigns.

On his side of the field, we have our very own Lewandowski, a player who's always in the discussion about the world's best strikers, who terrorizes defenses in the domestic league scoring hat-tricks for fun week-in and week-out, and who claims to be the "untouchable superstar" of the team. Yet, when a crucial CL tie comes along, you'd wish we never sold Nils Petersen :|

We previously had Mario Gomez, Mario Mandzukic and Ivica Olic. Mentioning these guys back then in the discussions of best striker in the world would have been ridiculed by almost every footballing fan out there. Yet, we've reached three finals with these guys and got our hands on the holy trophy. Those trio scored in most important games, including the likes of Barca, Real, Juve, United, and of course Dortmund. Heck, Mandzukic with Juve is still terrorizing and scoring against Real Madrid every time they meet.

Having the world's best striker isn't necessarily in the best interest for Bayern. The same goes for any other position. We needs players who fit, who are willing to be part of the team, who generally shy away from the spot light, and do their jobs without having to make a big fuss out of it.

Lewandowski, please do have a great World Cup. Chelsea, United, and PSG are planning to send scouts.

It's also about the feeling, look at young Joshua with courage and determination the kid wanted to kill somebody after the final whistle of the first leg and what he did? He came back stronger and scored again, he fought, he tried something for the team = had balls.

Put those balls on Lewy's shorts and he will torment everybody. I can't swallow that our superstar, big time striker looks so uninterested in such games(Sevilla,RM) and a kid who earns 1/10 of Lewy's salary shows that character and on top of that does the job of the striker by scoring. If I was Lewandowski even if I wanted to leave I'd be mad that a young RB overshadowed me and a 35-y old Ribery is leading the offense. It's a really embarrassing attitude from a player that wants to be treated like CR7 in Munich. Buddy, CR7 has scored in a couple of seasons more K.O goals that you have scored in your career... Wake up or get lost.

Even after such a game and performance, I'm still looking for an interview by him or just a self-criticism, pathetic.

You can say what ever, but he gave all for the team.

I hope he stays and pulls a Robben next year.

That's the problem. We embraced him as much as we can. He betrayed to the fans and the club for money.

I hope he'll pull a Robben too if he stays but not betting on it.

Well maybe it had something to do with having Ribery, Robben, Schweinsteiger, Lahm, Neuer or Alaba in the best form their lives too :D

Just imagine what a vintage Robbery performance could have done to Real yesterday

Yes, we can. That’s literally what everyone is saying: he did not give his all.

That feeling when you've just finished a 180 minute vanishing act and got upstaged by Benzema and are now realizing your dream move to Madrid is looking less and less likely

Exactly lolololo
Not sure if I should feel sad or happy that it had to be Benzema to score.
Now this cnut probably won't get his move to RM, but we'll also have to stick with him unless ManUtd is dumb enough to take him off us for 100 mil.

And to think we've been laughing at Juve's face for Higuain all the time.
