Renato failed to even make it on the bench for this afternoon match...

Remarkable what has happened to this kid. It's hard to explain. Best to take the loss and sell him back to Portugal...

I would give him one more chance. (simply because he’s still very young and can turn it around)

Loan him out to a Bundesliga club or a mid table Spanish club. If he still fails to make the cut then I would move on.

I wonder if it is actually possible for all three parties to agree to rescind the loan contract. Renato Sanches comes back to train with Heynckes and then be able to play as from 2018.

And get some matches with FCB 2 so that he gets to know what football in Germany is all about.

Was going to recommend that too, but the problem is that FCB II don't have any (competitive) matches left this year. The next one they have scheduled so far (2 postponed matches could theoretically be done before) is 23rd February.

EPL is the wrong league to send a prodigy kid to develop just because of... Clement, yeah the super highly decorated coach... give me a break, we should have convinced the kid to play for a German team where he can be a starter, too many advantages, he would stick to the culture, learn the language better and adjust into the league if the men in charge saw in him huge adjustment issues then a 2-year loan and let him play his football accordingly, he still is very very young, he isn't a lost cause for me only if he already gave up to Germany and his career. Teams like Werder,Hannover or Gladbach would take him, I'm pretty sure, it was a bad call to send him abroad(again) just when he already showed problematic adjustment into Munich.

Now it depends on the next coach, nothing you can do especially with Tolisso rising.
If Goretzka joins us then Renato is gone certainly.

To be honest I think he'll turn out to be another Podolski. I'm for selling especially if we get Goretzka.

Podolski's case was lack of talent, he had immense push from the media, totally overhyped player but he had the potential to become something better than he achieved while Renato Sanches case it's more of mental problem, I don't think he is a fraud. If the rumors about him being lazy etc are true then he is destined to fail but in that age you can help him to learn and appreciate a couple of things and not waste his career and opportunities like many others, that's all

If he was 22-23 I wouldn't mind either, sell him to the highest bidder but I just think he just need some guidance.

He's not in the matchday squad against Manchester City; this is his second match in a row that he fails to make the matchday squad, unless I'm mistaken. And no, he's not injured. At least I couldn't find any info that he is.

Would it be far fetched to say this is the worst transfer for an under-20 player in the history of the game?

Thanks Kalle.
Thanks Michael.
Thanks Mendes.

The player's only turned 20 in August. In perspective, Mueller scored his first professional goal aged around 19.5 years old, back when Klinsmann was head coach. Klose was still training as a carpenter when he was 22 years old. In essence, too early to judge.

The point being how many teams have paid $35 million plus for a 20 something guy who two seasons later is battling to stay on loan just to play on the weekends?
