We have. Didn't work. It is clear this team is quite unlike Benfica where he excelled.

Alaba skipped the last 2 seasons and yet, he was/is still first-choice LB

I really don't know what to expect. It's not like he's been a flop or something because he didn't have enough chances to prove himself.

Will that change this season? Hopefully yes... but given Ancelotti's record with young prospects I wouldn't set my hopes too high...

Who decided to make this transfer? I always thought he was Ancelotti's petition but it doesn't look like it :^o

Something is on with his attitude. It's like he's not trying hard but at the same time he wants to impress with cheap tricks. How often have we seen him take on his direct opponent, dribble past him and then turn round and pass horizontally to a teammate? Most of the dribbles I recall seeing him do were quite useless and he could've passed straight away. This kind of attitude is symptomatic with young & immature players and I wouldn't worry about it, but it will raise an eyebrow (pun intended) from a coach who greatly values experience.

When I see Sanches on the pitch, I find he is lacking confidence and self-belief. It's like he's always working on some instructions and shirking away from responsibilities. His decisions sometimes feel forced or an easy way out because he seems afraid of committing a mistake. Someone needs to talk to him and give him more liberty. He needs to work on being creative and believing in himself. Until he comes out of this shell he won't start to reach his immense potential.

Apples and oranges. Alaba was already established and has been at the club for a long time.

He always does the same move when he is one on one. He shows what he is going to do. Moves the ball to his right and because he is slow in doing so, he usually loses the ball.

According to Bild... Sanches is already a valid candidate for the chopping block. Which could easily turn out to be even worse than Kroos departure, in the long run. I hope we don't grow so impatient with our assets, as one season is not enough to dismiss any youngster's potential.
