To be honest, for me his penalty was the most impressive thing from last night. Not just because of how well he took it, but to take it at such an important moment in the tournament, and at that age.....shows balls.
She’s beauty, she’s grace, if u tell her she only watches football for the attractive players she’ll punch u in the face.

Agreed!

On top of that he asked to take the 2nd penalty that's definitely tells something for the kid's character!

"For the penalties, the coach asked who wanted to shoot. Cristiano was first and I said I would be second. The coach had faith in me, and I was confident enough to ask to shoot," [source]

Marcotti for ESPN:

The African proverb goes, "It takes a village to raise a child." . . . but sharing a common goal, then it takes a village to win a European championship.
. . .
Those who had pictured Portugal getting to the final four likely did so imagining Cristiano Ronaldo in a starring role. He's there -- he's the village chief, but on a humid day in Marseille, he was simply another villager.

The difference-makers were others. Like Pepe, perhaps the village bully . . . Or Ricardo Quaresma, maybe the guy who lives at the edge of the village, the one whose life journey has been marked by wrong turns and dark times . . .

And, above all, the baby of the village. The guy who had almost as many top-flight starts in his career (22) as he has years on this earth (18). The man-child who now has more man-of-the-match awards at these Euros (two) than he has starts with the national team (one: Thursday was his debut). The dynamo set to join Bayern Munich for a fee of $40 million plus a string of bonuses that could take it to twice that. The kid who became the youngest goal scorer in the knockout phase of the European Championships.

Take a bow, Renato Sanches. . .

At minute 35, a back-heel from the darting Nani found Sanches at the edge of the box. He seemed to pause a beat or two, as if he was giving opponents "the eye" before unleashing a venomous finish that slipped inside the post. The teenager rushed to his bench. He was going to celebrate with the entire village.

"Being a Premier League player, for me, they missed out on a very good talent," Fonte said."He's a nice kid, he listens to the old guys, he wants to learn, which is good. It's great to have him around and he'll be the future of the national side for sure. "He's got no fear. He just doesn't care. He goes and asks for the ball every second," Fonte added. He's got power and strength, energy to run all day and great ability.
It is lucky for Bayern Munich that they have him.""

I was surprised that he took it second. He is mature for his age

Renato reminds me a bit of Vidal... really box to box, technically sound (probably more so than arturo) and very determined. Even if he loses a ball in midfield he is the first person to struggle and win it back. Wouldn't be surprised if Ancelotti opted for a Renato-Vidal central midfield during the season, both powerhouse players.

He'll learn so much from Vidal next season...Hopefully also to foul a bit more subtly :P
