No, that's not what he said. That's your interpretation of what he said. My interpretation's radically different. What I understand is that it's not professional to be a fan of a coach. What he did imply though is that he might not be backing him had we not won the double.

Seriously though, why would someone be a fan of his coach? Jesus Christ, players can just be professionals, respect their coach and authority, work hard and do their job on the pitch. Some Bayern fans who are also Guardiola fans thought or at least behave as all fans must adore him and his football approach, style, ideas, experiments... That was a very wrong way of thinking.
One thing is to openly hate and dislike his on a personal level, but completely opposite thing is to disagree with your coach and criticize some of his working methods, ideas and decisions. Still, it doesn't mean Bayern fans are automatically against their club. The exactly same thing was with Ancelotti 2-3 years ago. But with Kovač this all has gone way too far and no wonder Tuchel, Klopp, Breitner, Hitzfeld, Effenberg, Heynckes think quite opposite to media opinion as well as the opinion of Karl and Uli, but primarily stupid Karl who just can't stop embarrassing himself after 4-5 years.

The real and only important question in the end is: "Is a player real Bayern fan or not?" If a player is the club fan, then nothing else matters. That automatically means he shall give his best he's got both to the club and the club fans no matter whether he likes him or not as long as he's playing regularly or having more than 2200 minutes in all competitions. About coaches, staff, playing style, transfers always decides the board, not players or fans.
Ancelotti was the only one who paid the heaviest price at Bayern where players literally sacked him und turned his back. Even Klinsmann, Magath, Rehhagel and many others didn't feel that on their skin, but he did.
And that also goes on Karl's and Uli's soul, not on men like Heynckes, Guardiola, Van Gaal, etc.

The only thing I really hate is how our board has been keeping fingers crossed in their pockets for the last 4 years for all this situation and I've got a feeling they'll continue in the same direction after this season if they don't make some serious changes in squad policy and don't put a real pressure on Kovač in terms of signing new players such as Sané and Rodri, maybe one more winger or a decent backup RB. :|

Karl's recent statements only prove "was für ein Arschloch ist er" for so many years with all his opinion changes.

After the CL game at AEK Athens, Niko Kovač criticised Jérôme Boateng's attitude in the trainer cabin. Brazzo intervened & Boateng said: "You have nothing to say to me, you wanted to get rid of me in the summer." - since then, their relationship has been strained [SportBild]
