There is a lot of potential in this guy, seems ready to take on opponents whenever given space. If he can work on his decision making and end product he will be stellar

Indeed. He got an assist and suffered the PK...

And to the people that were worried about him crippling Kurt's development, well, he's miles and miles ahead of Sinan in his development and both are the same age. It was an extremely good piece of business signing Coman...

We know how well he can be when he's offered space to run with the ball and dribble past his opponents, but he has still a lot to learn in order to unlock compact defenses and combine in tight spaces.

He's starting to win me over, our scouts seem to be really good at their job.

Does anyone else think that 67 minutes' worth of playing time is not enough to be ecstatic about? Early days, really early days.

Yes, but we can be optimisstic and he's still a teenager. I too am trying to tone down my happiness a bit, especially after recently witnessing a Swiss player who was meant to be the next Robben.

I like the kid since before he arrived (not because I had watch him a lot, just a feeling), but I think the fact Pep is willing to trust him in a CL game at 0-1 for 30 minutes speaks volumes about how our coach regards him. Even more because the trade was Coman for Vidal, when a like-for-like replacement would have been Rode or even Rafinha for Vidal (Lahm moving to midfield if required.) Even a Götze earlier sub might have been possible.

Definitively early days, but I think this one will surprise us and come out good before we expect him to.

After the Shaqiri debacle and Gotze underperformance matched with Neymar's top class development has shown me it takes a lot of things to go right to be a top player. I'm gonna give Coman patience before I start thinking he will replace anyone like Robbery.

It is early, but I think many are just speaking about his potential and the positive they see in him. Only time will tell if he lives up to them, but he's showing great signs so far.

Kingsley Coman

Postby Firefox1234 » Sat Sep 19, 2015 4:20 pm

I love what I am seeing from the kid so far especially considering he is only 19! He looks to always take on defenders with quick fients more similar to Ribery. He still needs to work on his technical side like finishing, long passing, decision making, close control, etc. but he is a very developed winger for 19 and deserves more starts imo. He is gonna become an immense player in the future and probably this season.

Yes, turned out about the way I thought he would (if he goes on like this) - also his crosses need to become better, but I like that he also uses his left foot from time to time and it's not tooo bad...
