There's no need for an Indian cultural day..There are so many things in Indian culture even if we allotted 1 day for each the number of days in a year would be insufficient..

If Jupp is not in good health or if he starts falling ill regularly then I don’t want him to stay for one more year. What happened today looked like an anomaly because Jupp is in excellent shape for his age. I’m still on the one year extension train but if stuff like this becomes too frequent then I’d get off that train.

Guys, it's just the flu like other people, you're making it sound like he suffered a heart attack or a stroke.

Jupp on Peter Hermann:
Peter Hermann took care of the team very well while I was away. The win against Schalke was so important. The players dealt with the situation professionally and it contributed to my recovery. Now all players are fit and everyone wants to play so we will continue rotating the squad.

Jupp on Manuel Neuer:
I'm following him closely, I have given him valuable advice that he has followed. He is making very good progress. I'm not putting pressure on him, we will decide together when he will be back in training. I have complete confidence in Sven Ulreich.

Jupp on Coman and Ribéry:
A coach should never make the mistake to tell the media which player has an advantage over the other in the starting lineup. The strengths of Ribery and Coman are well known. Coman developed very well but it takes time to improve in some areas.

Jupp on the Real Madrid-PSG game: I think PSG played well for 83 minutes, they were tactically solid and had a plan. But it's well known that Real never give up at the Bernabeu, that's where the experience played its part. That was the difference.

Jupp on what he did while he was ill:
I was in bed trying to sleep. I felt really bad on Saturday and woke up shortly before the Bayern game started. On Wednesday, I watched Besiktas games.

Interesting bit that I suspect may cause some controversy: Jupp has said the current squad is better than the 12/13 squad

Unfortunately, it's not. He has said that competition is "stronger", whatever that means I don't see that when I take a look at the Bundesliga rival BVB or when I see how our legendary wingers got old and in the last line our display on the pitch doesn't speak in favor of Jupp's statement.

Player by player yes our current squad is definitely better..
Goalkeeper-Ulreich>Starke
CB-Hummels>>>>>Dante
LB-Bernat>>>>Contento
CDM-Vidal as a player and esp in current form I feel is better than Schweinsteiger. Schweini wasn't as much a goal threat anyway neither that aggressive.

Anyway we have Tolisso and Rudy who don't even make the bench when everyone's fit that's how strong we are.
CM-Thiago enough said.
Attackers-James and Lewandowski compensate for Robben and Ribery as far as flair and talent is concerned. Coman brings the pace required and is much better than Shaqiri. Lewandowski and Mandzukic can't even be mentioned in the same sentence. Muller has declined a bit but is slowly regaining his form.
Wagner compensates for Gomez. He makes up with passion and love for the club what he lacks in ability when compared with Gomez.

Only thing you cam say is Lahm was better than Kimmich and also a better captain than Neuer. That Robben was better than This Robben and same for Ribery but that's not enough.

So yes our current squad is DEFINITELY better.

The way I see it.

2013 Neuer > 2018 Ulreich
2013 Alaba >= 2018 Alaba
2013 Dante < 2018 Hummels
2013 Boateng < 2018 Boateng
2013 Lahm > 2018 Kimmich
2013 Schweinsteiger > 2018 Thiago
2013 Martinez > 2018 Martinez
2013 Ribery > 2018 Ribery
2013 Mueller = 2018 James
2013 Robben > 2018 Mueller/Robben
2013 Gomez > 2018 Lewandowski 8)

For me, we are only better in central defence and weaker in all other parts of the pitch. But of course, we're comparing with the most dominant team in football history, 2012/13 Bayern.

As I've said before, our squad is better, our starting lineup is not.
