Oh but it is. If Kimmich was Spanish or South American, he'd be more 'famous' today. German players and German football in general has been underrated for decades.

It's not so much because he is German, it's because he plays in BuLi. Look at Sané or Kroos... As soon as they left for other leagues, they suddenly became the hottest sh!t in Europe.

I mean, including me, maybe regarding talent ramsej might be right with his otherwise weird assumptions about Germans being unable to appreciate themselves and their likes...

But I always felt our soccer was in high regard at least with those who actually know anything about this sport... Not the FIFA kiddies in Western Philippines of course...

No, I actually think many people still see German football as too rough and uncultured. See Sampaoli's latest remarks. He was probably thinking something along the lines of "German football is uncultured, untechnical and rough; uggly but effective".

That's a very South American perception of German football. A rather weird one since Germany (and also the BuLi) has turned towards technical football for more than a decade now, but a common perception regardless...

I agree with the rest of your post..but this bais against philippines or other south east asain countries is unwarranted..

Do you know we stay awake from 1.30 pm to 3.30 pm (even worse in vietnam)..to watch bayern?
Secondly here tv channels don't show bayern mostly..you have to search for a SD stream from somehwere because most of them even can't pay for paid streaming services.
Thirdly, Those "kiddies" are supporters of united,madrid,chelsea or barca..bayern fans are very few and far in between. And they have to endure the bullshit those fans speak throughout the week..the latest of which being that ashley young is better than alaba..

Germans lacks media power to overrate players. Today Journalism is mostly copy/paste. if Germans had propaganda tools like they did, it would be different.
