Okay, OT: who do you suggest as inevitable replacement?

I still think the priority should be Hakimi and just put Pavard there. See how he works out after a full year and reassess later.

I think Süle can still make it to world class level, but we'd have to rely on Lucas to lead the line. Upamecano would be a backup in this case, which is expensive for the price suggested.

If it's an outright purchase to potentially improve the squad, don't need to look much further from Upamecano: just Konaté next to him. Obviously not counting the unrealistic elite targets like De Ligt, Marquinhos or Škriniar.

Sule is terrible. Boateng wasn't even that good ever. As with Müller, you're massively off.

Boateng wasn't good ever? How on Earth did he, then, win the Fußballer des Jahres 2016, UEFA Team of the Year 2016, UEFA European Championship Team of the Tournament 2016 amongst other awards?

Yeah, I know that's gonna be a controversial position. But really, Boateng was always limited in several very important aspects of defending. He had the best or second best long passing technique at a point. He was also a superb short passer and good resisting high pressing. But defending? That he was never able to do at the top level.

Did you spend the prime Boateng time completely drunk? :/ of course he was great. He had a really high peak.

has he watched 2014 WC?

Boateng is doing great and I don't mind at all if he stays and would even welcome a contract extension

Admittedly a bit short though. Not more than 3 years IMO. The rest of the time, like now, he was good, but not too great.

Of course, that I can agree with. It happens. Dante's peak was even shorter.

Oh great, I thought it would escalate from borderline racism to full-on racism.
