Nor should he TBH. Love Boateng but I think he (and we) should accept that his 2016/17 for Bayern is basically a wash. Would be stupid to bench Javi in the form that he's in currently and his partnership with Hummels has been top notch. Boateng should rest and focus on healing up good for 17/18.

The crazy competition in central defence helped Javi Martínez climb 2 or 3 levels in class. In no Bayern team in history would Boateng be threatened with serious time on the bench.
